I mean, 2000 years later, and people still complain about life, I know the idea of living forever and salvation, but do we have to have new jesus every 2000 so people won`t complain too much? My neighbour is a christian, or a believer in Jesus he says, but he`s still miserable..

There's nothing about Christianity that promises you'll lead an easy life.

Depends who you ask. I am pretty dang content with my life at this point and I live off SSDI.

Because Jesus has taken away the sin of the world but that does not mean people have stopped sinning. People (even believers) are still in their sinful physical body they received at birth and they are going to have bad days and problems throughout their life.

So you may have a believer who is not happy and complains all the time, but that will not be this persons eventual life on the new earth. They will know a place where death is no more, where there is no more pain and the curse of sin will have been removed. They will no longer be a sinner they will know peace and unending joy.

Which is the opposite of unbelievers who will remain a sinner for all eternity as The Bible states their worm will never die.

Jesus did not make everybody happy 2000 years ago. He came to provide the escape for humanity so anyone who accepted Him could have eternal life as their reward after they die the first death. AT the resurrection the saints will live forever, the wicked will be resurrected then destroyed.

In the Bible 2 Corinthians 4:4 says Satan is the "god of this world" and does all in his power to stop people from accepting the Gospel that will save them. In Ephesians 6 we are told that we are at war with Satan.

The Jews rejected him... and then were destroyed by the Romans.
The Christians followed Him - and that meant 11l of the 12 were killed (or in the case of John - they tried to kill him), imprisoned, beaten etc.

Jesus said in Matt 10;
28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are two sparrows not sold for an assarion? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all counted. 31 So do not fear; you are more valuable than a great number of sparrows.

32 “Therefore, everyone who confesses Me before people, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before people, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I came to turn a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36 and a person’s enemies will be the members of his household.

37 “The one who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and the one who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 The one who has found his life will lose it, and the one who has lost his life on My account will find it.

If your neighbor would have the peace that passes all understanding he must choose to take up his cross and follow Jesus. Angels will be at his side constantly and God the Holy Spirit will give him peace and understanding in what to do.

I have to say that our perception of life, religion, and Jesus has a lot to do with it

and bear in mind, people can label themselves as "Christians", but ...

Jesus isn't the answer to hurt feelings. He is the answer to a far greater and fundamental problem, namely, evil. Yet with Christ comes also joy, peace, and love, and He is with us in our suffering.

On a practical level, it's always good to make a distinction between what is actually taught and what may be practised — this goes for any kind of religion, philosophy or worldview. This is to say that we should be careful not to judge a set of beliefs on how some people practice it or what they say about it. So, instead of looking at your neighbour, you'll have a better understanding if you look at the source, which is the Bible. Consider the apostles, for example. How did they live? Did they complain about life? Were they miserable? I think you'll find that they were not.

Not everyone who says " Lord, Lord", do His will or actually love Him. This would cause misery indeed as their heart is not in the right condition and they do not walk with His Holy Spirit daily. Though we suffer the things of the flesh, His Spirit will lift us up. We know our life on earth is short but the time will come when we will have everlasting life in His Kingdom. Blessings.

Sure, he's miserable. The world is a hard place to live in. There's nothing in the Bible that promises anyone an easy life or a magically induced state of mind that enables us to be content every single day we wake up. Nor does it scrub out an inclination to sin.

- everybody in this world is in grief and sadness about many things
- many people have painful ailments doctors don't like brought to their attention
- it's permissible to be inarticulate
- maybe his church placed him under legalism and shame about "evangelising"
- maybe his sense of humour is extra deadpan

It sounds like your problem is with Jesus instead of your neighbor. Here is something Jesus said that you'd be wise to heed:

When you go with your adversary to the magistrate, make every effort along the way to settle with him, lest he drag you to the judge, the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison. I tell you, you shall not depart from there till you have paid the very last mite. (Luke 12:58–59)​
