Paul contrasted the natural against the spiritual in 1 Corinthians 15:
44b If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven.
Adam was the first man or first Adam. Jesus was the second man or the second Adam.
48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.
The first Adam was a man of dust. His body and his thinking belonged to the natural. The second Adam was a man of heaven. His way of thinking was spiritual.
49 Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.

There is good news. As Christians, we have an advantage over the first Adam. The second Adam died to give us the Paraclete to dwell in us. This is God's deposit in our spirit to connect us to heaven. Even now, a Christian can be a spiritual man, bearing the image of the man of heaven. Jesus was the second Adam. He set an example for us and gave us the Paraclete so that we don't have to live like the first Adam.
