"Is acknowledging Jesus as your saviour the only way to be saved?"

yes

Is Christianity the only path to God?

no. Jesus is. Not Christianity. Christianity is a religion. Jesus is a person. No one can come to the Father except through Jesus:

"Im THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life, NO ONE can come to the Father but by me." - Jesus to his disciples. I think he makes it clear. (emphasis mine)

There are world religious leaders who claim that grace is at work in all man made religions... even those of shadows and idols. They further state... that just the act of being good without any belief in God or Jesus can result in salvation.

I am not anyone of importance...but I believe this is the gospel of the Devil.

What do you think?

Well first off, the idea that simply believing in God or Jesus will get you saved, is wrong. It's instead, the acceptance of the Savior and His offer of salvation from your sin that saves you.

In regards to your question, you both are right. Leaders are correct in that people in other religions can come to have salvation, BUT it's by responding to your recognized need for a mediator between God and yourself; and by accepting that mediator once it has been revealed to you: and if you are seeking, you will always find Jesus. This is evidenced in a Muslim I know from a strict Muslim country, who says he is not a Christian (because to him that means being a 'Westerner') but he believes in Isa, Arabic for Jesus, who came to him in a dream after days of searching, to tell him he was his savior for his sins. That night he accepted and became a secret believer. He's a Christian by definition because he has accepted God's Son as payment for his sins, and he therefore follows him to as he has made Isa the Lord of his life. So yes, I do believe we'll find more people in Heaven than just those we think are Christian.

There are missionaries who report on African tribes who have already accepted Jesus as their savior - the work for them was already done by the Holy Spirit; but God instead used those missionaries to teach the tribe to follow Jesus as the sole Lord of their lives.

But these all prove that God can work through anything. Salvation is freely offered to those who seek it.

It is the twisted gospel of the Devil that states that grace allows you freedom to sin in whatever capacity you wish. Since this denies the Lordship of Jesus Christ in one's life, this is a falsehood from the pit of hell, designed to drag anyone with an inkling of personal pride down to hell with it.

I have a question for Josephus:

1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Does this verse not say that all Christians should be ready to answer questions?
**
I Corinthians 6:4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters appoint as judges even men of little account in the church!

Does this not say that all Christians should be capable of answering questions?
**
Mark 9:40 for whoever is not for us is against us.

Why would you stop anyone who is For Jesus?

But wouldnt you say that is a little pretentious of Jesus to assume that he is the only one to follow to get Heaven? What about Adam? Noah? Abraham? Moses? Confucius? Sidhartha Gautama? Patanjali? Muhammad? Baha'u'llah? Jalal al-Din Rumi? Martin Luther? Joseph Smith? Paramahansa Yogananda? Are all of these guys null and void?

Catchup,

It is not the "acknowledging" of Jesus as your Savior, but the belief that Jesus Christ redeems you of your sins.

What must you do to be saved? Believe... not acknowledge.

Is Christianity the only path to God?

No. The Bible tells us in Romans Chapter one and two of the invisible qualities of God, that God will reveal Himself to people who have not heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, yet, there is a requirement of believing there also. But for anyone who has heard the Gospel of Christ, then Jesus is the only way and the only truth.
