  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Mark 2:17 KJV

So, were Jesus to come again tomorrow, where do you think He might most profitably spend His time? Among politicians? In prisons? Among journalists? Among the rich? Or, could He just go anywhere, because we are all sinners...

Best wishes, Strivax.

I don't know.

When Jesus came here on Earth he spent most of the times with his disciples. Yes, he was friends with sinners, prostitutes, and tax collectors. But he still spent most of his time hanging with people who believed in him.

It wouldn't have mattered if anyone is a politician, pastor, journalist, or rich; he spent time with anyone who wanted know him. Remember Zacheous?

Now, that's what I got from reading the Gospels. I could be wrong.

It seems like Jesus was mostly in public around crowds.

Today you would probably find Jesus in places like shanty towns in the most oppressed places on Earth, refugee camps, ghettos, etc.

Not because that is where sinners are, but because it is where people are suffering the most.

Jesus was "sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." We are to go to the ends of the world to preach, teach and to heal the sick. "Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness." Matthew 9:25

He came the first time to show that no depth is beyond redemption if God wills it.

He comes the second time to judge those who do not respond to his call.

agree with every part except the use of the will word in your post-- it's our choice-- we've been given free will to choose-- not other way around...

I think you meant Matt 9: 35. Actually Jesus didn't send the disciples to everyone, just to scattered Israel.

The disciples were very surprised when they found out that the gentiles could be saved. Yes the disciples always were sent to Israel. Paul was the one that took the gospel to the gentiles.

Jesus would still make some public appearances. But he (with the assistance of a team of disciples) would have a major online presence. He'd definitely have a web site with video sermons, and probably a blog. Of course he'd be active on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media. And I'm sure he be tweeting frequently with his take on various happenings. His goal was to spread his message and have as many followers as possible. And that's how it's done in the 21st century. #Savior
