  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hahaha I just saw the movie last night. It was really disgusting. I feel bad for those kids. My favorite part was this one kid whos like "My mom wont let me watch harry potter or anything with witch craft but I watch it at my dads =D" And all the other kids look at him like hes nuts hahahaha! Reminds me of when I was a kid and my dad would record south park for me to watch when I got there.

So I finally watched this DVD a couple of weeks ago. Watched it twice actually.

I still have no idea what to think about it. The music made it sound really creepy and disturbing, which I thought was lame for a supposed 'documentary.' I couldn't tell what the directors were trying to portray with their technique.

But it wasn't scary or shocking for me, I guess. I've seen that stuff done a lot. I always grew up thinking that some people were more demonstrative or whatever than other people. No big deal. So I watched this movie and I was like, oh yeah, I remember that stuff.

I definitely there are parts in the film and things people say that unless you're around that culture or in the 'churchworld' you wouldn't really understand.

Thats really the problem though. Most folks are not brought up in this 'churchworld' even many of your fellow Christians. And frankly, to a non-Christian, the attitude of the people in the film is down right frightening. These are children we are talking about here. Children mostly under the age of 10 being made to weep and cry on their knees for even the slightest infraction.

No child deserves to suffer this type of mental anguish. If this happened outside of a religious setting it would be treated as child abuse.

But then why is it allowed inside a religious setting-christian or otherwise-and considered okay if it's so detramental for the child? (Yeah, I know I spelled that word wrong.) What about enveloping it in religion suddenly makes it better or more socially acceptable, for lack of a better term?

It's definitely a film that will start a lot of discussion/debate in Bible studies and church groups. :p Maybe that's one of the things I really do like about the film. It will cause people to start discussing God and culture and the churchworld. I've found that most christians don't like talking about God.
One of the reasons I really like being on CF!!
