And yet you seem to think that a book that labels us as "unhuman" is "probably pretty spot on"? Why?
I don't think I accused you personally as one of them. So "us" doesn't apply to you in my opinion. I believe I warned you that there are an aweful lot of leftists that would head down that road. Mostly ignorantly. In the posting you provided there were a lot of things in there that the left definitely is for, such as nihilism. And when one considers the way much of the left divides people between haves and have nots and oppressed and oppressors. If we look at Harris' campaign it's a prime example.of Marxism. Look how she has divided her supporters. White women for Harris White men for Harris, Black Women for Harris ETC. She can't help divide her voters people into groups all with shared grievances real or imagined.
All of this has lead down very bad pathways in history. And it's where we could go if we aren't careful.

It's far more than just social safety nets. Look what they want to do with the Supreme Court. It's one of the top things that socialist authoritarians want to do wherever they grab control.

Im.not scared, because I know it's going to happen sooner or later. And when it does on a world wide stage, the Lord will return. America has been one of the countries that has stood for freedom, but more and more citizens here are choosing security instead of freedom responsibility. Once America goes, there will be no holding back the floodgates.

As we know rhe world NEVER gets better for long and it just continues the slow slide until the end.

You know I might have just talked myself into voting for Harris. Lol.

Blurb available here on the “Editorial Reviews” tab:

The word “fascist” gets thrown around a lot in politics, but it’s hard to find a more apt one for “Unhumans,” which came out last month. The book argues that leftists don’t deserve the status of human beings — that they are, as the title says, unhumans — and that they are waging a shadow war against all that is good and decent, which will end in apocalyptic slaughter if they are not stopped. “As they are opposed to humanity itself, they place themselves outside of the category completely, in an entirely new misery-driven subdivision, the unhuman,” write Posobiec and Lisec.

The piece goes on to describe the book’s adulation of Franco, Pinochet, and McCarthy; and quote Vance saying that the US needs a de-Baathafication-like purge to rid us of wokeness.

Other endorsements come from Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump Jr., a key figure in his father’s presidential campaign. The foreword is by Stephen Bannon, Donald Trump’s former chief strategist.

Gotta love an out of contect quote from a left wing media website during election season.

Forget that the left and NYT itself has been dehumanizing white men for the better part of the last 10 years...

Still, it's hard to imagine what a book by Jack Pobosiec has anything to do with this election...and if the reference to Marxists and their tendency to deny rights to groups they politically oppose (like the right to equality under the law, the right to a fair trial, right to freedom of speech, right to bodily autonomy, etc) then it's an apt description.

I think it's because Democrats are Marxist's and communists now.

This is an insult to them because this is what they are. Communists.

They are just communists that have managed to capture a major political party in the United States.
Except the Democrats are not communists, by any sane definition.

Your party is either completely captured, or it's a communist (it's actually technically not it's just a good catch all term, they have invented a new type of communism, but the end is the same) party.
'A new type of communism...' Hmm. Can I play?

The GOP is either completely captured, or it's a facist (it's actually technically not it's just a good catch all term, they have invented a new type of facism, but the end is the same) party.

Exactly, just read about project 2025, and before they deny Trump has ever heard of it, remind them his own VP pick wrote a forward to a book about it. And the project is almost wholly written by Trump cronies.

People have been calling us that for 8 years + now ..I don't see your point...

In online discussions I have been called alt-right, a white supremacist, a Zionist, far right, an extreme MAGA Republican, a racist, homophobic, an islamiphobe a xenophobe etc etc.

It got so bad I erased myself from the Internet... I was just done with the hatred...

It's just more difficult to forget it all ..
Because it is as justified as calling the Democrats communist or captured by communists.

And if Trump follows through with project 2025s goals then labeling the Republicans fascist would not be unreasonable.

The obvious point is that the GOP is not a facist organisation. Some members may make comments that could be compared to fascist rhetoric but the party is obviously not facist. It's mostrously ridiculous to suggest such thing. Just as it's monstrously ridiculous to call the Democratic Party communist.

Let's get a grip on reality here.

There's something seriously wrong with the party who, 92 days before a presidential election has no policy proposals listed anywhere...
Which doesn't stop you claiming that their policies are communist. I guess you found them somewhere. Let us know where.

Oh no, a person who I don’t like, who I disagree with on every issue, who who’s stances on said issues I find to be morally and ethically repugnant, who I think is unfit to lead thinks I’m unhuman because through his unfit leadership he determined my stances don’t resemble his in any way. I’m devastated.

Hey, give the author some credit. He does not equate progressivism to fascism.

(That was, probably correctly if the adulation of Franco and Pinochet is accurate, a descriptor of the book by the reviewer in OP.)
In some cases - he should and it would be accurate.

@Bradskii - I honestly used to think everything you wrote.. every word.

But I don't know any more. And that is just being realistic.

I don't trust your side anymore... Not for anything. I don't know what you all might technically be considered, but as an American it's just scary... You've turned into very very scary party of people who have no common values with me.
Well, you're on the right and they're on the left. Obviously they have different values to you. What on earth did you expect? But most people know what facism is and they know what communism is. Someone using either term to decribe either of the two parties simply indicates that they don't have any idea what they actually mean. Those people are excluding themselves from a reasonable political discussion.

You aren't engaged in a discussion. You're just shouting nonsense over the fence.

Your opinion of the definition of “us” in this instance is irrelevant. Posobiec is the one who’s defining it, not you.

I was talking about Vance, but the author of the book is more than welcome to slap on those shoes and do some walking too.

This kind of rhetoric about a particular group being subhuman/unhuman is dangerous. It paves the way for treating those of that group as less than human, as animals. The same rhetorical devices were used to justify slavery.

I don't know too much about the details in this book but communism generally brings a pretty strict law and order. It might seem like the revolution phase is anarchic but this is allowed so that control can be achieved out of chaos. Vance himself is described as "post-liberal." "...Vance is a self-described member of the “post-liberal right,” an upstart political movement that flips the conventional conservative script and emphasizes the good of the community over individual liberty. The controversial approach, which is both inspired by and contested within the Catholic Church, includes harnessing state power to secure its aims, another break from the standard operating procedure of the American right." Source: JD Vance Is a Catholic ‘Post-Liberal’: Here’s What That Means — And Why It Matters

Sounds like repackaged Rousseau, where you are forced to be free and place the "general will" above the individual will. Forced to be Free: Rethinking the Terms of Rousseau’s ‘Social Contract’ | Epoché Magazine

I say a big NO THANKS, because even if you do find a great community type path, someone will eventually corrupt it. If you want scary, I am sure the anti-Christ too parades as a "post-liberal" suggesting peace and harmony among religions, promising a global economy with greater equality etc. We all know where that leads. God does require Christians to be more community oriented but it is voluntary. Never coerced. After the cold war I still remember an E European preacher talk about how in Acts everyone did share things in common, to whoever had need etc. the difference again, is that it was voluntary whereas in state-controlled societies of any version, it is forced.

Vance provided the first blurb on the “Unhumans” book jacket. “In the past, communists marched in the streets waving red flags. Today, they march through H.R., college campuses and courtrooms to wage lawfare against good, honest people,” he wrote. “Jack Posobiec and Joshua Lisec reveal their plans and show us what to do to fight back.”

Other endorsements come from Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump Jr., a key figure in his father’s presidential campaign. The foreword is by Stephen Bannon, Donald Trump’s former chief strategist.
