  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You must have missed the posts re: Chick's ability to tell one truth not making him less of a liar. I thank God that I am not his judge, because I can see no redeeming qualities in the man. I pray that God can and that He judges Mr. Chick mercifully when his time is come.

Man, have you guys been duped.

Chick's initials - JTC - stand for "Jesuit Treachery Coordinator."

Chick is secretly a Jesuit operative. For years his job has been to produce tracts that are so ridiculously venomous that they inspire pity for Catholics in the minds of Protestants. That pity leaves the unsuspecting Evangelicals open to Catholic influence. Clever bit of reverse psychology, eh?

I know, for you see, I was once a liturgical dancer held captive in a demon-haunted Bingo Hall.

That is, until I was rescued by ALBERTO !!!

(But not before he asked for my Visa Card number and expiration date.)

Thanks for the information. I'm was wondering if he accepted Visa. I was told that he only accepts Master Card. I was in fear of losing my salvation. NOw I can be saved :D

Didn't someone from Catholic Answers actually meet Chick once, at a screening of his film? I always believed he was a psuedonym for a whole group of crazy people, possibly a crazy church, or that he had died long ago and someone else was keeping the enterprise going, until I read of the actual Chick encounter from a reputable Catholic source.

Yes, it was Jimmy Akin.

Yet one can forfeit one's salvation . . . thus one's place in heaven is not guaranteed.

We are wrong at times, we are all liars at times, but Im not to here to call Jack Chick any worse than I am, since I too am a sinner. One of Jack Chick's only mistakes was against Catholicism, but people fail to realize how many people his tracts have helped to become saved, and how many tell the truth and are entirely backed up by scripture. Critisize him about what he says about Catholicism, but dont critisize him about things which are entirely biblical, if anything, he is just another person trying to spread the Good Word. Seems as though there is a lot of ignorence towards him, something that is a big mistake.

Crispie, its one thing to recognize you lied, and remove all traces of your lie as a sort of damage-control. Its another thing entirely to obstinately persist in that lie, which is what Jack Chick is doing.

Patrick Madrid once made an analogy like this -
Let's say hypothetically I was baking a pan of brownies, and you saw me mix it up, and put it in the pan.
Then right in front of you, I put a little peice of poopoo in the pan. The brownie is less than 1% poopoo, and you saw where I put it.
Would you eat any brownies from that pan?

No, but unfortunately that analogy doesnt work because you can seperate the poo poo from Jack Chicks tracts. Theres many tracts that are fully backed by scripture, and useable in witnessing. The majority of Christians are wrong about something in regards to Christianity, does that mean that the majority of Christians should be condemned and entirely hated and ignored? No.

Have you guys heard of this guy? I was on catholic.com, and I ran into this article about him. The guys disturbed. He's some comic book publisher that thinks the Catholic church was behind the formation of Islam, mormonism, unity, Christian Science, the creation of the KKK, the Civil War, the assasination of Abe Lincoln, the Holocaust, starting to see the picture?...

man you catholics are bad :p^_^

ive heard of him but from the likes of him he isnt high on my list of what id call respectability.

I'm smart enough.

And, dog-gone-it, people LIKE me!

Actually, it's nothing like that (I suffer from no inferiority complexes:)), but we did discuss this. :) Although I first came accross it in an article in This Rock magazine: Meet Jack Chick;)

You try removing the poo poo from brownies.

you saw where I put the poopoo. Would you simply remove the section of the brownie where the poopoo was and then eat the brownie? Or would you discard the whole thing as a poopoo brownie?

Crispie, Chick also uses Scripture to "fully back up" what he spouts in his anti-Catholic tracts as well.

I just told you that that analogy does not work in this case, because with Jack Chick you can pick tracts that are valid from ones that are invalid for use in witnessing, while in the Brownies they are entirely ruined. Lies do not spoil Truth, because Truth is everlasting.

Lets look at it this way. Instead of having 1 batch of ruined brownies, you have 2 batches, one ruined and one good, the good ones you eat, that is, the good tracts.

The point, Crispie, is that whatever you can 'pick out' of Chick tracts, you still must consider the source. The man is a hatemonger for profit, a prostitutor of the Gospel. I wouldn't believe him if he said the sky was blue, not without checking with three other people first.

not true.
If you apply the same level of scrictness to the brownies which you are applying to Chick, you would simply ignore the poopoo and each the brownies around it.
