I came down with something one week ago when I started coughing, and I thought it was just another cold. However, a few days later, I started having a fever. It was painful to swallow food and drink down. And it felt tight and very hoarse to talk, so I couldn't speak for the past few days. Also, my parents had to cancel their wedding dinner at a fancy restaurant.
Today, they are considering taking me to the ER today because as far as we are concernec, I have an infection and we shouldn't wait until tommorow.
Please pray that God watches over me and heals me. I've never been to the ER before and I'm scared.

You really should see a doctor.

If you’re running a high fever you might have strep. That needs to be treated . It can be dangerous . If it’s a bacterial they’ll give you an antibiotic. Don’t worry so much

Praying for you that the Holy Spirit bring you healing and comfort. May you have a spirit of courage and endurance. May you feel the presence of Lord Jesus Christ strongly in your life right now.

I remember just how painful that sore throat can be and just how slowly time passes when every swallow takes courage because of the pain. Know that the Holy Spirit is with you.

while you are waiting for the ER, there is something that you can do to relieve the sore throat.
Go to a drug store and ask for a bottle of either Chloraseptic (brand name)or Equaline (generic) sore throat spray. Both of these temporarily relieve sore throat pain by numbing the area that they are applied to.

They usually come either in a spray bottle, or have an attached small plastic cup in which to measure the liquid. With the spray, all you need to do is open your mouth and spray the liquid in your mouth. Swish it around and swallow. Or fill the small plastic cup attached to the lid of the bottle with the correct amount of medicine, take a sip, swish it around in your throat, and swallow.

This won't cure any infection, but it will help with the pain. Best Wishes!

See if you can find some sage in the shop or in a herb garden. Fresh is best to use, but dry works as well. Just chew on some leaves and swallow the spit without eating the sage leaves for a bit. The leaves don't taste the best but will relieve a sore throat and help heal the infection. Chew a few leaves each time the sore throat returns until it is healed.

We have used sage very successfully raising five kids and our kids use it when they get a sore throat and now their children begin to use them as well even though the taste of sage is rather astringent because it helps so well treating a sore throat.

Peace.

In my area, we have places called "Urgent Care" where you can drop in and get same-day treatment from a doctor, but it's not as expensive as the Emergency Room - usually, the same cost as seeing your regular doctor. (Something like this: Urgent Care Miami: UHealth Jackson Urgent Care Centers , which seems to be an Urgent Care facility in your area.) I went to one of these when I had Lyme Disease, and on another occasion when I had a sprain. You might consider going to an Urgent Care facility this afternoon. The one near me is open 7 days a week.

Sounds like strep or tonsillitis to me. Listerine, I have found, is great for preventing all kinds of URIs, if used at least once daily, but not so great if the illness has taken hold. If you get on antibiotics please be sure to space them out with good, high quality, probiotics. Those sold in bottles are not nearly as powerful as those in things like Kombucha and kefir and Danon's yogurt with acidophilus.

Could be Strep Throat or Tonsilitis. You should definitely have it looked at if it's been a week.
I've got discharged from the ER last night. In the ER, we found out it was viral form of Laryngitis. A nurse and a doctor swabbed my throat for Strep Throat test. It came out negative.
So, I took Motrin, which the doctor had recommended for me, for the past 24 hours. It made my swallowing feel a lot better. But I'm still not well yet and I did have a slight fever today.

Oh okay! I've never had laryngitis... I'm glad you're feeling somewhat better and that you got the help you needed. I'm sure your fever will resolve with time. It sounds like you had a pretty bad infection.
