• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

On the contrary, you are more likely to be a major threat to the enemy to have so much going on. I saw a programme earlier this week where the minister had mentioned that our potential as believers can be measured by how much afflictions are taking place in our lives. We tend to interpret our afflictions as us being weak in our walk with the Lord when in actual fact, and over time, we get to realise what Paul meant in terms of 2 Cor 12:8-9. For when we are weak He is strong (can't remember that verse right now )

We may not be aware of our potential but Jesus and the enemy are fully aware. Therefore the enemy will fill us with self doubt, and illness to take our minds off our ministry.

Lean closer to the Lord, tell Him how you feel, rest in Him. Do this daily if you can.

Will keep you lifted in prayer, sibling.

Oh! And welcome to Christian Forums 's

Caused? Nah.

Walk with God is begining of straightening your path. You will find that the Word of God and your relationship with him are guide stones to begining of your life. His strength and wisdom will bring life to you, but it is no easy path.

No. God is not punishing you for having a bad relationship with Him.

Soundwave, this is by no means a punishment to you. In fact, it's an opportunity for you to "cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you." Lean on His words and the encouragement we receive in the New Testament. You are loved by Him.

Also, as well as there is a possibility that this is a spiritual attack as a previous poster mentioned, it could also be partially rooted physically. I've suffered from many of the symptoms of the disorders that you've mentioned, and little did I know for quite awhile that they were largely due to a nutritional imbalance in my body. It could be worth checking into. If our physical bodies are unbalanced in some way, it can have mental/emotional/spiritual ramifications.

Please hold onto hope, it's always there for you. And seek God as your Father during this time...even when it feels like you're talking to the air. Many times we feel horrible, but He's still there, working behind the scenes to produce better people out of us.

I met a girl this year that was bi Polar and had ADHD. Wrote a little bit about that. She would dump all kinds of emo stuff on me and made me a bit crazy.

From where Im standing. Sometimes people with Bi Polar are emotionally destructive. You have to make sure that your faith in God is not bad enough you will go out of your way to hurt someone.

Have you ever read the book of Job? I did before I went through a difficult time last christmas. The thing I learned from reading it is
1. God does not punish us, he say that we are not under condemnation
2. Bad things happen to good people (and bad people) "the sun shines on the righteous and the unrighteous" but he uses these things for his glory.

Back to Job, God allowed satan to take everything away from him, just to see if he would curse God, but he wouldnt, he just kept trusting and believing in him.

I have come to the conclusion that things happen, not always for a reason, but that God is with us and trying to show us how much he loves us, we need to accept his love and trust that he will see us through to the end.
