The above is quite out of character for me. But since most friends don't have time to get together and plan birthday parties, I'm having my own party for my CF friends here.

Good lord, how much time you got? Just kidding! I hope you are home having a nice birthday. I'm sitting here at work waiting for the day to end. Everyone is on vacation for the holiday and I'm staring at the clock until 5pm. I'm all caught up with work and even cleaned my messy desk. When you were little, did your birthday get celebrated with Christmas or on its own?

I'm at work as well.

I can't remember ever having a birthday party when I was little. Everyone had just got together for Christmas, too close to get out in the snow and get together again. (lived in Northern Maine).

But I understood. So I started working for this company just over 2 yrs ago. They have a policy of having a birthday party for each person when they start a new decade. So 20+ people surprise me with a birthday party just after I started working here. It was the best birthday party I'd had in my life and I hardly knew people here yet.

Oh so sorry I missed the party! I totally would have come. Well if it had been closer, and I had more notice, and it wasn't so cold out, and I didn't just get an implant for my missing tooth, and ......but I TOTALLY would have come! And I definitely would have sang Happy Birthday to YOU!
