It's not because they are Muslim

Who says that that is the answer? This makes a handy claim, but where's the truth behind it?

Is the current leader for the Republican Nomination not saying that we should ban all Muslims from crossing over the border?

I asked you to support THIS statement that you made: "But why is the answer to shut out and demonize all Muslims then?"

Who, exactly is "demonizing" "ALL" Muslims?

The current frontrunner for the Republican Nomination for President and his supporters. I'm betting you know his name.

Where exactly did Donald Trump demonize all Muslims? All you've been able to point to so far is Trump's call for a temporary moratorium on the immigration of Muslims. That's not even close.

It's really depressing how people think they can tell half-truths in order to smear someone, and it's supposed to be perfectly alright. They even defend themselves when it's pointed out to them what they've done! :sigh:

When he said we should ban all of them from coming over the border because of ISIS. A temporary ban on all Muslims crossing the border is still demonizing all Muslims. It is charging all Muslims for the crimes of ISIS.

I'm still waiting for some evidence of "demonize" and "all Muslims." Or does it not matter that you just made this up?

But why is the answer to shut out and demonize all Muslims then? If you hate radical Islam, and treat all of Islam as though it's radical Islam, then do you not hate all Muslims?

Hatred of Islam doesn't imply hatred of the individuals who follow it.

I'm amazed of those who haven't spend at least a little time knowing what Islam teaches then turn around and defend it. Islam is not just a religion but a system of government with it's own laws.

No, it's not. Any reasonable person knows that. If there had been some "demonizing" accompanying it, that would be different. But of course, that wasn't the case and Trump went on to say nice things about his Muslim friends, etc. so you might as well recognize that you got carried away with fancy words that weren't accurate. You really can't do that and retain any credibility, not to mention the moral obligations of our faith. OK now?

He didn't say they WERE Isis. You know better than that, I hope.

If all immigrants were required to have a background check, that doesn't mean that we are saying that each of them is up to no good. It means that we want to find out who is and who is not.

This is like saying during WW2 we demonize Germans since we went to war with them while only 7% were actually Nazi. It's was impossible to separate Germans from the Nazis so we had to bomb the nation as a whole.

He said he would not allow any Muslims to enter the country. If he had not been charging all of Islam with the crimes of ISIS he would have used another defining characteristic, other than religion, to determine who may and who may not enter the country.

Right, right. As opposed to, you know, Christianity or Judaism.

Uh, no, it's not. It's like saying that because we are at war with Germany, we won't allow any immigration from that country for the duration of the war. That isn't saying that every applicant is a Nazi spy.

Oh man I am sick of the constant comparison between extremist Islam and the Second World War. Germany had heavy manufacturing, three armed services and millions of trained men under arms and a bureaucracy to govern conquered regions.

Extremist Islam has <100,000 poorly trained, poorly equipped, disparate guys and a couple of goats.
