Jesus had been healing people. Some scribes came along and said that Jesus had the ability to heal people because he was possessed by the devil - that he had an "unclean spirit". Mark 3. Jesus didn't have an unclean spirit - he had the HOLY SPIRIT! These men had attributed to the devil what was really God's power. They showed COMPLETE contempt to the God they claimed to serve and taught that Jesus was a devil. They believed it in their hearts and spoke it to the people. Do you believe that Jesus is a devil - do you actually believe this in your heart? Do you believe in your heart that the Holy Spirit is a devil? Do you speak this and teach it to others? If not, then you have NOT committed anything unpardonable. Ultimately, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the rejection of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

This is exactly right. When Jesus spoke of a sin that would not be forgiven, it was because of people who had seen miracles performed by Jesus right in front of them and said that Jesus's miraculous power was from the devil. They continued to determinedly refuse to believe in him despite seeing his miracles and having every reason and proof to believe.

I used to worry about this, as well, after reading the verse. I thought, "What if I had blasphemed against the holy spirit? Now nothing I do is of any good because I've committed the unforgivable sin." If you're worried that you committed this sin, then you haven't. It's a continued, determined attitude of unbelief and rejection of God despite clear signs of his love and power. It's not just a one-time or temporary slip in which you have bad thoughts or say bad things about Got.

------------------------- MSG From Jeremy Colosi ------------------------------------------

Hey SerenityA, I would say to you that you don't have to feel God or believe in God for God to have U.

I personally believe that God predestined us the chosen ones, and the ones chosen will inevitably be Glorified with Jesus Christ. (Its all a part of His Master Plan)

Romans 8:29-30
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

The Bible Also Says God chose us before the foundation of the earth. (Ephesians 1:4)

I had a Pastor that talked to me about the unforgivable sin, and he gave the gist of it to me that basically the only unforgivable sin is to continually reject God and not accept Him.

I believe U are Saved SerenityA. I believe U are Chosen also.

Someone that is going to Hell would be someone that doesn't care about Jesus and God at all whatsoever.

And U Care.

I believe U will be alright. Just continue to pray and ask that God gets a little closer to U every day and week and month.

A Pastor told me that As Long as U are Still Breathing, U are still IN THIS.

And Julianna Zobrist a Christian Contemporary Artist says in her song The Dawn, "As Long As You're Still Breathing, U Can Carry On."

So U are still in this because Two people, one being Julianna Zobrist, and another person the Pastor I know, say that if you are still breathing you can still carry on.

Matthew 18:19 NLT

I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.

Just Ask God That U Are Still In This Because I believe U Still Are.
