So, why not just make unisex bathrooms the norm? Problem solved.

Also, why do we continue to uphold laws that allow men to go topless in public places while forbidding women from doing the same?

Mainly because we're tired of changing the norm everytime an extremist gets a platform and a bullhorn.
Also, why do we continue to uphold laws that allow men to go topless in public places while forbidding women from doing the same?
Because common sense. Men and women are different. Some people have a hard time processing that, and find it easier to try and pretend there is no difference.

So we draw a line and say no more changes from this point on. Using that reasoni8ng the US should still have a monarchy and should still allow slavery
