• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

it seems like creationists arn't looking 4 the truth

There is obviously some factual inaccuracy in this verse above so why should we accept that Genesis is factually accurate?

Now "all that's left" is to make the creationists realize that.
Sadly, this "all that's left" is exactly the problem.

lol carcio wasn't ape's breeding humans discussed on some other topic u made?

Wasn't that discussed (and debunked as usual) on every thread she ever participated in? :help:

(Now I admit I didn't read each and every one of her thread postings, but from what I did read I definitely get that impression. The nonsensical ape-human-thingie seems to be her personal mantra..)

Okay, with both carico and av in this thread, I guess the sanest thing to do is drop out before my brain explodes from reading just the stuff others quoted out of their postings...

...that's the sad thing about ignore lists. Both of them have a first-class place in mine but that doesn't protect me from reading what others quote... :D

Tough. The study of the past can be useful. For example, study of paleoclimates and using the data to predict global environmental trends.

Right --- all that research and all I hears is 'Elninodidit' or 'Laninadidit'.

Pete Harcoff said:
Or the study of evolutionary trees and it's application to comparative genomics (particularly in areas of medical and agricultural research).

Right --- video games and movies like Jurassic Park.

I gave you a partial answer, did I not?

I don't know --- I didn't go to that website you posted. I almost never do. Can you answer in your own words?

I'd rather you answer the question; but, I get the impression you already have.

To make my point: it's easy to accuse someone of 'private interpretation', isn't it --- but much harder to answer in YOUR own words --- right?

For every finger you point, there's three pointing back, eh?

True

But Christianity is even worse at playing the right tune for science than, anything that is being played now

Imagine the lessons

We will be learning things like
What happens when Christians run science said:
Christian science class

F=MA

The force of God is the acceleration of God * the mass of God

Since the mass of God is infinite, its F=infinity*acceleration

Therefore the force of God is infinite

No, Christians, are defnetly the wrong drummer for science

That's because Christianity does not cater to science.

Look at it this way --- follow my logic here:
  1. Is God omniscent?
  2. Does He know Newton's formula for gravity?
  3. Did He give it to us in His Word?
  4. Why?

Because the Ancient Hebrews, who invented the "omniscient God" and credited Him as the source of their mythology, didn't have a clue about Newton's formula for gravity.

Imagine how little we'd know if we chained ourself to the Bible as the source of all human knowledge.

Your answer doesn't fit the questions.

Imagine how little we'd know if we chained ourself to the Bible as the source of all human knowledge.

A lot more than if you chained yourself to On the Origin of Species...

You guys don't understand. I said where science disagrees with the Bible, science is wrong.

God gave us brains and expects us to use them; but not to discredit Him.

It's okay to build technology (now), but just don't forget Who gave us the resources (and when).

You used the word Exclude not the word Disagree.
