I don't see anything wrong with his sleep pattern unless it's causing him to miss class or work. Some people just don't like mornings. :)

I used to work from about 3 to midnight, and then I'd get home, stay up until 4 or 5, then get up around 1 to get ready for work. Now that I'm back at school, afternoon classes are a good thing. :)
Yea, but mornings are mornings. If you wake up at 7:00 AM, then your morning starts at 7:00. If you wake up at 4:00 PM, then your morning starts at 4:00.

When I was going to graduate school, my Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday were always messed up.

Friday classes started at 8:30 am. Fortunately lived a block from school so got up at 8:15. At noon, drove to the Med Tech Department which was located behind the County Hospital (ie: not on campus) to teach lab class. At 3, went to the lab (back to campus) to do my thesis research. Stayed there until 7. Went home, grabbed dinner and a nap. 10 o'clock went to work (hospital STAT lab) and worked from 11pm to 7am.

Saturday, dragged butt home at around 8am. Slept until 5. Woke up, ate dinner, went to lab til around 9. Went home, grabbed a snack, went back to work. 11pm to 7am.

Sunday, dragged butt home again at around 8am. Stayed up until 6pm. Crashed at 6 to wake up at 8:15 Monday morning for class again.

Did that for two years. Not much of a life those two years. :D

And now... I have a hard time staying awake past 11pm.

No, then it's the afternoon, and you've avoided morning. :)

Anything before noon seems too early.

Most people that are into that kinda stuff can't stand sunlight. They spend all their time in a dark room.

Really? Then the four or five Wicca's I know must all be exceptions.

And the Wicca's they know.

And so on.

I have a friend who gets a total holier-than-though attitude about waking up early. Somehow, in her world, getting up two hours earlier to do work is honorable, whereas staying up two hours later to do it is slothful. Who cares? We both got our work done, we're both on time for our commitments, it shouldn't matter.

I'm not sure I agree with "mornings are the same no matter when you wake up" either. I mean, in the actual morning it's dark and cold and there's nothing to watch while you have breakfast except morning "news" show drivel. If you wake up in the afternoon it's warmer, lighter, and the TV programming is far superior. ;)

DT I used to do that in college :). For me, it was a like a "freedom" thing. Fri & Sat are the only nights I can stay up late. I would always hate waking up at 2 or 3 though...

Of course, the nicer the weather got, the earlier I'd want to wake up on the weekends.

Today I woke up at 3.... I went to bed around 1 something, so I dont really know why I slept that late I think I was just really tired from this work week.

But all that said I'd rather consistently wake up earlier. :).

DT, I'm just curious, does this guy do drugs or drink a lot?
No drugs, he just drinks. Most of the guys that live on my floor have the same sleep pattern - wake up in the late afternoon, get drunk and party during the late evening hours, go to sleep in the early morning. It's kind of cool waking up in the morning to go to church because almost everyone is asleep.

I just don't understand how somebody could enjoy those sleep hours.

Personally, I enjoy night quite a bit more than daylight. Less traffic, less crowds...I go grociery shopping at two a.m. sometimes and the lines are really short! Mornings make me depressed and I feel way more energetic at night. Nights are really comforting to me...I'd be nocturnal but for these dang college classes!

I used to work from 5pm until 1am, and I loved it. If I had to do "normal people" stuff like go to the doctor or the bank, I could wake up a little early and do it before work, I would have the run of wal-mart or kroger when I did my shopping after work, and the commute home took no time because most ofl the traffic lights flash yellow after a certain hour.

I think my hatred of mornings is a big part of why I have an education degree collecting dust. If they hired second-shift school teachers, I would be all over that!

lol! This is me, on the weekends! Fortunately, I can go into work later on Mondays to help myself get back on schedule.

Incidentally, it's 2:08 right now here. Yes, that's AM. Yes, I was playing City of Heroes (computer game) until after midnight. :p

  See you in the morning (or evening, or day after most likely)!

hehe i can identify with that. The current game of choice around the dorms these days is Halo 2 and the good-natured rivalry between Frisch 3 (my floor) and Frisch 5 has led to some interesting late-night all-out struggles for domination and bragging rights for the following day.

Sounds like his circadian rhythm is all messed up . . . .

Peace in Him!
Actually with this I agree, I used to be up because of my job til all hours of the night and then sleep all day, and before that it was because of my lifestyle that I was up all night then slept all day, so now even though I do sleep at night I find it hard to sleep and then when I do sleep I get up early but then I am sooooo tired because I did not sleep well I end up taking a nap most days which throws me off again that night .....

OYE....

And I do know that all it would take for me is one night of ataying up all night for me to go right back into that pattern of sleep again, whereas then to get back out of it, it would take me weeks to retrain myself again....

Double OYE
