It is very strange that the swing state votes take so long to count

If Trump was so concerned about this possibly affecting his re-election, then why hasn't he done one single thing about it in the last 4 years? (Answer: Because he wasn't worried about it and is only now pretending it's a problem so he can blame his loss on it.)

In most Western democracies, mail-in voting is highly
restricted, or even banned, because there have been
so many cases of widespread corruption.

Most nations know that mail-in voting is an open door for fraud.
Yet when President Trump announced his skepticism over some U.S.
states sending out unsolicited ballots to every registered voter,
he was accused of undermining democracy.

Many nations also have other strange rules, for example allowing online voting or banning all electronic voting.

Don't know if you're aware of this but there will be fraud in every election through every type of voting. The idea is to minimize it - you will never, ever get rid of it completely.

But if you're so against mail-in or absentee ballots then I guess you would like to throw out Trump's mail-in vote and the votes of thousands of our military service people. Good for you! Semper Fi (except not your votes, no Fi on your votes)!!! LOL

We can start by updating the voter rolls in the U.S.,
and follow the laws already on the books for starts.

Absentee ballots ok, but mass mailing
to every unconfirmed registered voter is not ok.

Oh, well, if Fox News and the "Independent Sentinel" say so then it must be true!! LOL

So I guess Trump should have worked on this terrible problem that we have in this country at some point during his entire 4 years, huh.... I mean, he gets things done, doesn't he?

Oh yeah, it wasn't a big problem until the last couple of months. Of course, I'm sure you raised concerns about this before the last couple of months, right? Can you link to those posts where you brought it up before the last couple of months?

What a load of horse manure.

And what would you suggest President Trump have done
to force Dem. run cities to follow voter roll laws ?

You know like removing the dead people or those
who moved out of residence or state from voter rolls.

The “System is rigged,” Trump said long ago,
many times calling for more stringent voter ID laws,
that just fell on deft ears.

That article has not aged well, and I suspect the person writing it knew that it would't. It was talked about frequently that there would likely be a "red mirage" on election night. This article from Oct. 22 -- two weeks before the election -- stated this would happen -- and it is Reuters, a British/Canadian news agency that stated it. Of course, if you search there were articles by most news agencies about the idea of "red mirages" and "blue mirages." Everyone, at least everyone paying attention, knew how this election was going to go -- not who would win -- but that, as in person votes were counted, Trump would build a lead and, when mail-in votes were counted, that Biden would get those votes.

Going back to the Reuters article, it explains exactly what we saw, "In Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, mail-in ballots cannot be counted until Election Day. While Michigan did recently pass a law that allows many cities to start processing mail-in ballots, such as opening ballot envelopes, the day before the election, they cannot begin to count votes.

"Because mail-in ballots typically take longer to count than ballots cast in person, the initial results could skew Republican. Then, some experts say, expect a “blue shift” as election officials wade through the piles of mail-in ballots."

It even goes on to say, "Pennsylvania’s vote counting could go on for days."

Somehow, everyone knew, back in mid-October, how this was going to play out. Yet somehow, now that it is happening, it is some type of "voter fraud?" Please educate yourselves about how this election worked and quit buying into the propaganda and false claims that some on the right are trying to sell. They are the ones trying to commit a fraud on the American people.

Apparently, it's not reasonable to question why there are videos being shared of poll workers crumpling ballots, writing on ballots, dumping ballots in trash cans, setting ballots on fire, finding bins of ballots with unregistered names on them, poll watchers being denied access to ballot-counting locations, postal workers being told to date-stamp mail with the wrong date, people questioning why hundreds of thousands of ballots showed up in the dead of night only in swing states where Trump is leading by a small margin, and much more.

Totally unreasonable to be curious.

You're welcome to find these things peculiar, but then the burden of responsibility becomes finding out:

1) Are these things actually happening?

2) Are there reasons why these things are happening that maybe I don't fully understand?

3) Why would a clandestine conspiracy live-broadcast exactly what's happening in an open and transparent way?

For example, sometimes there is an error on a ballot, in which case that ballot needs to be cured, or fixed, and so the original voter can fix it, what kind of error can this be? A common one is forgetting one's signature. Different jurisdictions have different rules on this.
EXPLAINER: What is a 'cured' ballot?

Sometimes ballots can't be read properly by the machines, and so the ballot needs to be copied. And yes, damaged or unreadable ballots would then have to be destroyed or disposed of somehow.

If Democrat supporters are to be believed, the reason that there are so many mail-in ballots for Biden, is that Democrats prefer mail-in voting to voting in person, particularly as Biden has encouraged his supporters to use mail-in voting. We are supposed to believe this, despite the fact that many Democrat states declared their results relatively quickly.

Is there a rational, legitimate explanation why the swing states that Biden needs to win the presidential election are taking far longer to count than most of the Democrat stronghold states? Surely if Democrats love mail-in voting so much, the Democrat stronghold states would take even longer to count than the swing states.

From a sceptical point of view, the reason these swing states are taking so long to count is that those tasked with stealing the presidential election underestimated Trump's support in these swing states, and so needed to forge far more mail-in ballots than they ever anticipated being required. All of the forged ballots then still need to go through the act of being counted.

I think at one point it was reported that out of a pile of more than 69,000 ballots counted, less than 4,000 were for Trump, which would suggest that someone made an error, and mixed too many forged ballots into the pile of genuine ballots, leading to a situation where the fraud was blatantly obvious. That adds further complications, because extra Trump votes might need to be forged too, so as not to give the game away, while also being careful that the total number of registered voters is not exceeded.

Yep,

1) Republican legislatures shut down the possibility of early counting in some cases.
2) Various incidents of counting staff getting COVID
3) Sheer and unprecedented volume of mailin votes and especially in COVID aware Democrat constituencies.

Nothing suspicious on macro level. What is wrong here is Trumps dishonest and dishonourable litigationism.

Yep, what we are seeing is the result of Republican policies, and how Trump politicised and failed to deal with Covid 19.

Without Covid this election would have been an electoral college landslide in Trump's favour.

Then you can work with Republicans—-who control most state and county governments —- to change the rules. But you don’t get to simply change the rules just because your cupcake candidate is losing.

Even a mediocre response to COVID by Trump would have given him a comfortable victory. The lasting thought of his presidency should be “If only he was smart....” COVID was his chance to rally around the flag and ride that to a second term, alas he failed to seize the opportunity.

Well, regardless of how finely you want to slice it, reporting it as a Democratic only problem seems to be a bit shortsighted. For example - Who Is Registered to Vote in Two States? Some in Trump’s Inner Circle (Published 2017)

But in any case, this is just a smokescreen to cover up the GOP's attempt to purge valid voters' registrations :

Voter purges: are Republicans trying to rig the 2020 election?
Right-Wing Groups Aims to Purge 800,000 Voters in Pennsylvania
Stacking the deck: How the GOP works to suppress minority voting

Trump successfully tried to politicize mail in balloting as well. He only succeeded in torturing America a little bit longer by sabotaging the speed of the count.

Interestingly, I recently read an article in The Atlantic that basically said that:
America’s Next Authoritarian Will Be Much More Competent

Now, The Atlantic really hates Trumps so the whole thing is basically framed as a warning of how a future "smart Trump" could destroy America, but setting aside its obvious biases, it does nevertheless have a point that Trump could have managed considerable success, including re-election, if he had been a smarter administrator.
