It is very strange that the swing state votes take so long to count

But that is just it, every state has their own machines -- they don't all use the same ones. And the Federal government does not supply the paper for the ballots. For that matter, in many states, you even have different machines in different counties.

Seriously, this is such a massive conspiracy that it would be impossible to keep secret. You have numerous individuals in the Federal Government. You have numerous individuals in each state -- and often each county -- who have to be told so they can insure they use the right paper and get them printed correctly. The printers likely have to know, particularly since the printer often sources the paper for printing the ballots. It goes on and on -- and with officials from both parties having to know abou this "special paper," there are going to be states that don't agree to it and/or refuse to use it.

Again, when the Constitution directs the states to set up their own requirements to select Electors for the Electoral College, they aren't going to be willing to accept a mandate, even on the paper they need to use, from the Federal Government.

Lol it's got nothing to do with the format of cryptography involved, it's that your "Trump hasn't utterly botched this and is laying a very smart trap, actually" line is both incoherent and also *literally illegal*. Ironically.

States were being called for Biden when they had 0% of their votes reported. Then you had states with 95% counted, with Trump winning, that refused to turn red.

Apparently, this is just fine.

If and only if you understand that the mail in ballots take longer to count and states like PA had many more requests for mail in ballots from registered democrats.

Then be consistent and don't give Biden an entire state with 0% of the votes in. Or give Trump the states with 95+% reported and he's leading.

Consistency.

Mathematics is hard isn’t it?

They refused to call some states for Trump, even when showing an estimate of over 90% counted, and a clear Trump lead.

You do realise that media outlets don’t decide the outcome of a ballot, do you?

Is there a rational, legitimate explanation why the swing states that Biden needs to win the presidential election are taking far longer to count than most of the Democrat stronghold states?
Why would we need to explain something that isn't happening? I mean, CA and NY are still counting. They just aren't in the news because we know that Biden is going to win there.

So, given many states are still counting, this reduces the question to why are close states close, which seems like an easy one to answer.

Well that just makes Biden's transition website launch even more puzzling.
I mean, I get that after four years of an administration which doesn't plan and just reacts randomly to events it might seem like that behavior is normal, but planning for the future using the best knowledge we have at the moment is generally a positive trait in a Presidential administration.

This feels a lot like all of the confident claims about finding widespread illegal votes in the 2016 election. Remind me, how many did Donald's little election fraud committee find then?

RealClearInvestigations published “Who Will Clean Up America’s
Voter Rolls?” examining the problem of voter fraud.
https://www.realclearinvestigations...0/who_will_clean_up_americas_voter_rolls.html

Every example in the article is about Democrats.

Across the U.S., Democrats—including the Clinton and Obama administrations—
have been engaging in a massive conspiracy to ignore voter registration laws
and enable voter registration fraud.

So many Democrats are trumpeting their concern over free and fair elections.
Why not start with the simple step of obeying federal law and updating voter rolls?

If Trump was so concerned about this possibly affecting his re-election, then why hasn't he done one single thing about it in the last 4 years? (Answer: Because he wasn't worried about it and is only now pretending it's a problem so he can blame his loss on it.)

If all this is happening, why have two of Trump’s cases been thrown out for lack of evidence?

In the U.S., the Constitution gives the power to states to determine their own election rules.

It's not up to the federal government at all, but up to each state.

In Pennsylvania, the legislature made a law that ballots cannot be counted until after the polls close on election day.

Since there is a large pandemic, a lot of people voted by mail ballot.

See yet how that would affect the situation?

There is more: generally in states both parties have agents participating in the ballot counting, where each side examines the signatures and such on the ballot, and if one side wants to try to reject some ballots, if they are not a perfectly precise same signature form (mine hardly ever are just precisely the same twice myself) but that same signature actually looks ok to most people...so that the 2 sides can't easily agree quickly.... There are numerous other ways a ballot could be rejected or not, and a need for uniformity and sometimes it might be less clear, such as someone that used a pen running out of ink or such, or whatever.

Of course, such meticulous counting will take time in proportion to the number of ballots, and this year the number of mailed in ballots vastly exceeds the past (because of the pandemic this year).

Further, mask wearing and the pandemic in general got politized here in the U.S. (and this has to do with mail in ballots believe it or not...)

(I know, crazy to politicize something like mask wearing right!?)

Here's how that has gone: Democrats were already tending to wear masks in response to pleas from public health authorities, as were many Republicans, but Trump didn't want to personally wear one too much, back in June and July, and only occasionally put one on for a moment, and not when normally required of others in various locations.

Long and short of it: Masks became politized.

Some claimed they felt their freedom was attacked when (even private businesses like) grocery stores and such required shoppers to wear masks.

(they must have forgotten a grocery store is a private business and can choose whether to allow someone into its private property?...)

I kid you not.

Then Trump claimed, contrary to clear evidence from the past, that mail in ballots would be fraudulent in general, when in reality the rate of fraud has been found after careful examinations in the past to be vanishingly small.

Over and over Trump told his own voters to vote in person.

Therefore, most Trump voters did vote in person. And therefore most mail in ballots are democratic votes....

Which Trump would prefer not exist of course.

But... Trump has voted by mail himself in the past. heh heh...that's a fun fact.

If you want slow, check out Alaska. They are the slowest and I don't hear Trump fans whining about it.

Seems like an obvious oversight in their reporting - North Carolina GOP Operative Faces New Felony Charges That Allege Ballot Fraud

Wonder what else they missed?

If you read the article, it was not about if any Rep. ever cheated,
it was about America's Voter Rolls, and I ask why do the democrat's
not follow the laws on the books to upkeep the voter rolls to date.

Most countries of the world ban mail-in voting
due to fraud & vote buying for a reason.
