I knew my surroundings, but the darkness was so think I was afraid that if I moved I would get lost. Then I looked up and saw the sky. I had never seen so many stars! It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen, and all I could think about was God and how amazing he must be to create something so incredible! tears came to my eyes, and I thought of the verse "He will never leave you, nor forsake you," and then the light came back on. I say all that, to say this. I know that some evolutionists don't understand how the earth could have been created, but I don't understand how it could have evolved. If anyone is willing to DISCUSS creation vs. evolution with me, please do.

The earth didn't evolve. Evolution is about the origin of biodiversity.

Amen Flapjack! I always get so excited and yet peaceful when I can see the milky way, because I know the God that made and controls all those stars still has time to listen to me when I whisper a prayer!

It isn't that evolutionists don't understand how the earth was created just that we don't think that is the way things happened. And anyway evolutionists aren't concerned about the creation of the earth or how it formed, we are concerned about evolution. I just however also happen to believe in the big bang, and the formation of the earth 4.55 billion years ago.

I do share your wonderment of the night sky, however, as an amatuer astronomer. I however think it is amazing when I look up that the universe is so old and vast, and such simple thingsa such a dust and gas clouds can look so beautiful as nebulae etc.

Now, the "evolutionists" who don't understand how the earth could have been created are the evolutionists who are atheists, aren't they? The theistic evolutionists do understan how the universe could be created. And the evolutionists who are agnostics don't know whether the universe was created or not.

That she sees God in stars is neither new nor bad. Many scientists who are theists have had the same feelings Flapjack has.

The important message is not to have a theism vs atheism debate with evolution being atheism.

I believe someone else brought atheism into the discussion. I did not mention it. I am talking about God creating the universe or its evolution. My question, and perhaps I did not make myself clear, was how can you look around you at the world, the sky, anything, and believe that it evlolved. When I look around I see God. I wanted to know what evolutionists see when they look.

Yes the universe with all its pretty stars can be very beautiful, I agree. Some may even see the stars as evidence of God whether they were created in a single day or billions. Would the stars be any less beautiful if it took millions of years for them to be this way? You could even see stars and planets in certain stages of development, how hard can it be to accept the fact that stars and planets can get created through evolution(as in stellar evolution, not biological).
