1 Peter 2:21-23
21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
KJV
1 Cor 4:11-14
11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;
12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:
13 Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
KJV
Only man's word should not be taken. They must always be checked against the whole counsel of the Bible.GraceInHim said:the Bible is my companion.. never doubt it but learn and obedient to God Almighty.. studying Church History lately.. love the prophets and love Paul's epistles.. a man who truly came to the Gentiles so humble in the name of the Lord.. NO, I have no problems with the word of God, they are his words not man's to judge and be spoken against.. but sadly some do question it more, I rather ask God for guidance when reading rather then taking only man's word..
thanks
1 John 4:4-12
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
KJV

Apostle Paul also presented that there are teachers in the church.
You are also a part of a church. Messianics is just another denomination.
And proper teachers always rely on the Scriptures backing their every thought.
The Holy Spirit is the Teacher and according to Paul, he distributes the gifts of teaching to people that carry on the teaching ministry.
1. Do you have teacher(s) that guide your learning or answer questions backed by the Scriptures?
2. What do you think qualifies one to lead the teaching ministry of the church?
Thanks,
Ed

It's so simple and it's of the Simplicity of Christ.
If you see the Cross in someone's life - then you'll see, in them, The Love of God abiding more and more. Then follow The God who is LOVE (1 John) in them and though shalt always do well. And you won't be following after mammon nor any other idol except The LORD OUR GOD WHO SENT HIS SON! THE LORD OF GLORY HIMSELF.

No problem.GraceInHim said:Edial, please stop assuming who I am and di-secting my ways? You seem to think you know me and ask questions with your thoughts in them of what I read and may ways.. I really appreciate it if you would stick to the subject of this OP.. thank you
I beg to differ. There is most Definately Replacement Theology at work in the church. Anyone who says that Israel has been replaced by the Church is advocating Replacement Theology, for example... and interestingly enough, the ones who claim RT is a "strawman" are the ones who typically espouse it....THere is no such thing as "replacement theology." It's a strawman to bloster absurdly weak arguments.

KEPLER said:Born again is protestant? Only protestant? Says who?
I suppose if you mean by "born again" things like tent revivals, altar calls, anxious benches, sinners prayers and all other such laughably anti-biblical concepts,...well, that certainly something only known in baptist and pentecostal circles...
But if you mean by "born again" "buried wih Christ and raised again with him" (ala Romans 6...), well then, no that is not just protestant, now is it?
Cheers,
Kepler
KEPLER said:A WORD OF FAITH:
It is not a "replacement." God has ONE people: this is what the Church has believed for 2000 years, and still believes today.
Both the OT and the NT use the SAME WORD to decribe this people: those whom he has "assembled" for himself. (Hebrew = qahal = "assembly")(Greek = ekklesia = "assembly"). When we realize that word which is tranlsated "church" in English is "ekklesia" (Assembly) we see that God has ONE and ONLY ONE people.
Tearing into two groups what God has ALWAYS called one group violates God's Word..
God himself said that there are TWO ISRAELS: one according to flesh (unepentant Israel) and one according to the FAITH. Israel of the FAITH is the CHURCH (both Jew and Gentile!).
HERE ENDETH THE LESSON....

God dealt with indivduals on a one on one basis, until the calling of Abraham, after which He slowly began gathering them together from Abrhams' descendants. This culminates in Jacob's blessing of Isaac, when says to Issac: May God Almighty Bless you and make you fruitful, that your descendants shall become a church of people.holdon said:1. Before Israel, there were certainly believers. They were not necessarily in any "qahal" or "ekklesia".
So, the fact that he said he "will' do it convinces you that he had not already begun doing it? Wow.2. Christ said in Mt 16 that He would build (future) His assembly.
You're right. Gentiles are called the "Children of the Promise" given to Abraham and they are called "of one body" with Israel. That's clear enough for me (and the vast majority of believers).3. Gentiles are never called Israel.
So, before that they did not belong to the Church. Nor Israel I might add.KEPLER said:God dealt with indivduals on a one on one basis, until the calling of Abraham, after which He slowly began gathering them together from Abrhams' descendants. Yes, indeed that does convince me... I have no reason to doubt His words. So, the fact that he said he "will' do it convinces you that he had not already begun doing it? Wow.
I am not so impressed by "majorities". It is Gentile Christians that are of one body with Jewish Christians. Not just with all Jews....You're right. Gentiles are called the "Children of the Promise" given to Abraham and they are called "of one body" with Israel. That's clear enough for me (and the vast majority of believers).
