Ethnicity vs' Religion, and culture. Does ethnicity define a Jew as Jewish, or does faith and culture define who is Jewish?
According to those of the Faith ...if you know what they believe ...you cant blame them for seeing the secularist as willing exiles.
But also it is a case of limited words. If you are a practitioner of Judaism you are told that makes you a Jew ...but also if you are ethnically Jewish you are also a Jew. So what way is there to define a secularist who is ethnically Jewish and has estranged themselves from both the faith and culture of Judaism?
There really is no way ....other than to difine one group as secularist, and the other as practitioners of Judaism.
My personal bias on the issue agrees with the Orthadox Minister, and excludes, and exiles all ethnicities of nations including ethnic Judians who dont keep Torah out of the Holy land. Why contine to defile the land of Yah before His Face when there are plenty of other places to live where you can live so foolishly?
Thats my stance. But looking at the founders of modern Israel, you have two dreams at its founding. One group desiring to reestablish a God fearing state under Judaism, and another group desiring to just simply have a Jewish state. One group has no standard but ethnicity, and are awarded a false sence of piety for being content, while those with standards watch their dreams being crushed daily as they are perpetually slandered for the standards they uphold.
The reality is, there are two states within modern Israel waring against each other ...just like in America one group wants to live morally, self governing with less government, while the other wants to live immorally with huge government control to subdue those who have become irrational, and insane through such lawless allowance. Its only the facade of centralized government that gives the illusion of national unity.
