  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Isolation is the dream-killer, not your attitude

I just saw a great TED talk video that inspired me to work harder at networking etc. Since I am an introvert that is prone to depression especially when facing issues like finding a new job etc. (that I'm going to be doing starting tomorrow)

I think it’s great to have a network of reliable people you can turn to. It does wonders for the mind and heart.

I dated someone who used to meet with a different person each week for a meal, coffee, or drinks. He was very intentional about his circle. He’d read something that challenged him to step up his communication. Needless to say, he always had something to do.

I’m doing the same this year. I’ve joined groups and organizations with weekly meetings and social events. I take classes and picked up a new hobby for similar reasons. I want to widen my pod.

You’ll benefit from the effort. Challenges like job searches are made easier when you have a lot of contacts.

Good luck and may God give you favor and lead you to the right place. :)
