You have to trust man to some extent.

That is not what YHWH , Y'SHUA, or HIS WORD SAYS.
(except after testing/ proving and then still leaning totally on YHWH'S DOING and not on man's --- man is pitifully weak and unreliable)
Those who trust their parents, doctors, teachers, church, government, labor union, scholars! , etc etc etc
instead of trusting YHWH

In the United States they do allow people to wear glasses in the service.

Heck they wanted me and I was nearsighted enough that glasses off I would have been unable to tell friend from foe at any distance where a rifle was more appropriate than a pistol.

There is a difference between allowing people to abuse you for His name and just flat out abusing you. There is NO reason that a Christian who is being batted for example to just let it happen.

I worship both the OT and NT God...I still can not reconcile the history of both.

You probably need to reconcile them in your mind with Scripture first and not count your perceptions and feelings as accurate. You didn't state why God commanded it be done. Unless that is the focus, instead of that they were killed, you won't be able to even intellectually understand. Another focus is who God is. Should a man receive a more severe punishment for murdering a 5 year old or a murderer on death row? If so, why?

If you had to choose to either save the life of a 5 year old or 100 inmates on death row, which would you choose, and why?

Question...Why did God prohibit man from killing then COMMAND Israel to slaughter untold people...the Bible never stated how many individuals died.
The question is a matter of war..
You question has to do with man's retribution against an individual,not ordering the deaths of masses of people.
