Since Paul said it is better to marry than to burn.. And we all know what burning leads to.. touching yourself, sex out of marriage, etc... He said it was better to marry, I don't think it's one of the un-pardonables if you know what I mean, But, he said we we're not to be abusers of mankind.. and I think thats what's taking place when touching yourself is done. Your abusing your body, and not using it what it was created for, the women, or man. then the mind gets envolved, with wild imaginings, which we have been told about. Sort of imaginary pornography. Paul said anything that is not of faith is sin... And I bet there is nobody here, that can muster up enough faith to touch.

I'm just curious if anybody thinks that touching yourself inside of marriage is okay? ....like both people doing some form of it together. Is oral sex a sin too? What are the limits? How do you think we are supposed to know? I'm just curious. Thanks.

This is going to be just my opinion, I believe what a couple does in their marriage bed before God, is between those two. So I don't want anyone to think that I'm condeming someones sexual preference to each other....But....having said that.. I do not believe that the penis was made for the mouth, or the mouth made for the penis. The same with a women. You as a couple are a holy union. He made parts for that. That sort of union produces nothing. It has no chance to produce fruit. He made parts that are compatable to each other, and should be able to bring the pleasure that God approves of. God said, "that the two shall become one"...a married couple being joined together can be a spiritual experiance, when God has ordained it between a man and a women. You are spiritually connected as one, at that moment..and for there to be a union that is distorted in concept, usually has to do with gratifying one's self instead of seeking to please each other.

O.k. I'm done... I feel like I'm on the Masters and Johnson forum.. :)

the Bible says that marriage is honorable in all, and the marriage bed is not defiled. I think that means that any kind of sex a married couple has is okay. And I think I remember a famous preacher saying the same thing. Think maybe it was Pat Robertson.
It was just my opinion as I said in the post. But I'm sure there are differences of opinions from just about anybody that can have one. :)

I'm thinking there should be a board for questions about sexuality and sexual sin. That way it's kept on that page, and those who may blush easy would not feel uncomfortable. It might be more appropriate.
With all due respect, I would think that a thread titled "Is touching yourself a Sin" would be warning enough... Easily blushed or offended should have enough sense to not click on that link! (Lead us not into temptation!)

Granted...I think I may have had a knee-jerk reaction to your post. Please accept my apology.

Masturbation
Jewish law clearly prohibits masturbation. This law is derived from the story of Onan (Gen. 38:8-10), who practiced coitus interruptus as a means of birth control to avoid fathering a child for his deceased brother. G-d killed Onan for this sin. Although Onan's act was not truly masturbation, Jewish law takes a very broad view of the acts prohibited by this passage, and forbids any act of ha-sh'cha'tat zerah (destruction of the seed), that is, [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] outside of the vagina. In fact, the prohibition is so strict that one passage in the Talmud states, "in the case of a man, the hand that reaches below the navel should be chopped off." (Niddah 13a)

This comes from Judaism 101
http://www.jewfaq.org/sex.htm#Masturbation
How can [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] outside of the vagina be bad in and of itself when it happens naturally through "wet dreams." Such thinking led to barbaric anti-wet dream mechanics such as spiked rings placed around the penis which would cause pain, waking the male up if he became aroused while sleeping.

Well "wet dreams" are natural and are not caused by a person masturbating... instead "wet dreams" are caused by the disposing of extra sperm from the testicles due to the fact that the testicles may not be able to contain that much. Therefore the "dream" part of wet dreams is caused by the subconcious being notified by our body, bringing those dreams up. The [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] is something we cannot resolve because why would God let it happen if He didn't want that to be the only natural way until marriage?

Men, like women, go through cycles during the month when their hormones are working overtime (especially true when they reach puberty). During these times, wanting sex is almost irresistable. Rather than doing something you might regret (rape, getting some disease from a prostitute), the safest route is masturbating to reduce the hormonal urge. Bottom line: just treat like you would other natural bodily functions and don't make a big deal out of it. The more you make a big deal of it, the more it gets concentrated and takes over your whole life. So when you get the urge, just do it, then move on.

If your subconscious is causing you to dream about sex, maybe its trying to tell you something......oh yeah, that there's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with perfectly natual, human urges like so-called "lust"

In any case the discussion about masturbation by talking about release of sperm, wet dreams etc does nothing to answer the question of whether masturbation is wrong! Why? Women touch too  - last time I checked women didn't have testicles or sperm, so how does discussion of only male bits and pieces help?

Am I wrong? Have I been in hibernation for a few years and woken up to find women do have these bits now ? :o
