How can it be a "real" language when "no man understands"? What "real" language can you name that no one understands? Please name it. That is not a rhetorical request.I think what you believe is misinterpretation of scripture. I cannot see 'Tongues' as anything other than 'real' languages.
I'm not sure. She just believes she has " The Gift of Tongues " That is what she says when asked. What does she feel is the reason for her, specifically, having this gift?

These are selected verses to prove your point, but you have left out the ones that give the more complete picture. That's what a lying spirit does.
Where in the Bible does it say "miracles have ceased"? I gave a long list of well documented miracles, in post #53 above. These came after prayer. They are just the tip of the iceberg. The doctors themselves are saying "It's a miracle...a miracle." But if you can show me some Bible verse that says miracles are finished, I'd like to see it. What I see are Bible verses like "Yahushuah haMashiach" aka Jesus Christ "the same yesterday, today and tomorrow....Nothing is impossible if you believe....When you stand praying, believe that you receive and you will have it....."?
That wasn't "selected verses". He gave you the rest of the first part of the chapter so that you can see the context of whats happening instead of cherry picking verses that YOU selected to "prove your point", as a "lying spirit" would (see how that works-both ways).
The poster just gave you context and highlighted all the parts pertaining to the discussion.
I'd like to go at this another angle with you if you would. Say it is tongues of gibberish. It wouldn't matter anyway since miraculous gifts have ceased.
Ephesians 4:11-13
1 Corinthians 13:8-10
Since Christ is not a "that" it could only mean the completion of the scriptures. Revelation was completed almost 30 years after Paul wrote 1 Corinthians. "That which is perfect" could only mean the completion of God's perfect word- scripture- as to bring up 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and 2 Peter 1:20-21 as our example.
Miraculous gifts were to ONLY confirm the word, and that Christ was who He said He was. That's it. Now that we have scripture, we have no need of miraculous gifts. They have "vanished away".
Mark 16:20 - they were to go out and and confirm the word with signs
Hebrews 2:4 - the word was affirmed by the signs, miracles, etc.
Luke 7:21-22 - basically, tell john I am He, and these miracles prove it
Then, if that weren't enough, miraculous gifts were only passed on by the apostles.
Acts 6:5-8 - Stephen and Philip are seen here having the apostles "pray and lay hands" on them to receive the miraculous gifts.
Acts 8:15-18 - The apostles came, they prayed, and laid hands on them, and they received miraculous gifts
1 Timothy 4:14 - Timothy received powers by the laying of hands
Since there are no apostles alive today (unless they are a couple thousand years old and we were lied to) then one cannot have miraculous gifts.
So, in conclusion, even if you were right about the gibberish being a gift, it would be impossible to have these gifts now days since we have NO need to confirm the word anymore. Its already complete. Thus, miracles have ceased, since the book of Revelations was finished. Furthermore, we sadly have no apostles to even pass these gifts on either.
This thread really needs to be moved. Its in the wrong location.
If she got the gift of tongues there will be fruit. She will see changes in her life for the better, maybe some more peace, more of a love for the Word, things like that.I'm not sure. She just believes she has " The Gift of Tongues " That is what she says when asked.

And P.S. The power never came from the Apostles, it came from the Lord. The Bible never says you have to have an apostle to work miracles, or if it does, where? Was Ananais an apostle?Where in the Bible does it say "miracles have ceased"? I gave a long list of well documented miracles, in post #53 above. These came after prayer. No, the real question, which you have not answered is, What does the BIBLE say? I asked you to give me a verse where it says miracles have ceased. It's all fiddlesticks. If you brought over a person with terminal cancer (they will die in a matter of weeks) and you asked these bogus people to heal them like Philip, Paul, Peter and the likes, you may be surprised that they would fail.
Also, why do these people hide on shows (that you can doctor or pretend) and never come out everyday to hospitals or public streets? Ask yourself this honest question. And remember, the bible was to confirm the word in front of non believers and believers all the same. Even the non believers admitted to seeing the miracles. Where are these miracle workers? Why do they hide if the bible says it is to go out and CONFIRM the word?
Look, this is the real question.
Do you believe the word needs confirming still now days or has it already been confirmed? Are you saying the bible is incomplete?
Then once you answer that question, hopefully everything else will fall in place.

When I ask you to confirm your belief with Bible verses I get a change of subject. Sorry, dear, I go by what the Word says, not by someone's opinions.
I have read all the posts here. I saw no verse such as you claim you posted, where the Scriptures say miracles have ceased. Please enlighten me and give the verse if I missed it.I'm sorry, I though you actually read my post, that was directed to someone else mind you, before you come barging in and being presumptuous.
Maybe if you read the post, you would see the scriptures.
Miracles are supernatural events that interrupt the natural process. There are no miracles these days that do this. You can have 20 doctors on there saying the same thing and I would still not believe them because my belief in the scripture trumps their words any day.
Now, go back to the post I made directed at someone else, read it, see the scriptures I placed, then come back (maybe apologize?) and say whatever it is you have to say against scripture.
EDIT: In fact, it seems like you didnt read MOST of my post. Its like you just read a couple lines then went on a inquisition on me. Read ALL my post as it covers all you need to know.
