Forgive me if this is the wrong part of the forum, but I am new here.
Anyways, here is my story that I'd like input on. Thanks in advanced!
About 4 months ago I met this girl at a football game. Typical teen thing to do. Anyways we talked for quite a while. We eventually got around to being together after getting to know eachother pretty well. But due to our age difference, 1 year and 8 months, her parents made us break up. Niether one of use are one's to go against a parents wishes, so we called it off.
I never gave up and I waited patiently praying and talking with God. She had moved on to another relationship but realized that she wasn't happy there and that someting wasn't right. Needless to say, just another teen break up.
We started seeing eachother more often again, being more than friends but not quite together and we felt horrible. We spent many hours praying that we could have a relationship that was pleasing to God and to do that her parents would need to change thier minds. Slowly her mom warmed up to the idea until it got to the point where she treated me like a son, and she still does. So all that was left was her father. We begain seeing eachother more and more often, all the time I was praying to God for guidance and we both spent a lot of time thinking and praying and hoping that her father would come around. 3 Days before Christmas I got a message from her. After our Church service, we had just seen Narnia and wanted to talk about it Biblicaly, I called her to find out her father randomly went from NO, to absolutely. Honestly, if God wasn't involved in this then I'm not typing this right now. Had you seen her fathers additude 3 months before hand you would have fallen over. Atleast I think God was involved.
So after 4 months of waiting we're finnaly together and our love for eachother and God is growing. Not only are we getting a close realtionship with eachother but also one with God. We study together from time to time and praying has become a regular thing several times a day. Our additudes are totaly different now. It's quite amazing.
We ask for guidance wiht our relationship as we don't want just another break up teen drama relationship. We want a relationship that helps us Grow closer to God and one that pleases him. That's our main focus, to have a good relationship, not one just ebcause like so many of the younger kids in our generation.
My question for you is,
Do you think this is a real relationship, one that has potential to continually grow? One that will mature and go on with time?
I'd also like any advice on how to have a Godly relationship with eachother.
We are starting to attend church together and other God related events.
Thanks,
Aaron
