Forgive me. Considering the rampant amount of racism in AMERICA, why would I be surprised about it's ugly head showing up in the SDA church? People are people and will have to answer to God for their sins.

Regardless of whatever age one lives in racism is racism. Are you saying that what E.G. White said was justified. The more things change the more they remain the same. I believe a person who is RACIST CANNOT BE A CHRISTIAN. The two are not compatible. Your argument would suggest to me that attitudes CAN change with time. What is so wise in the 1800's saying that ONLY white men must be leaders. I love the SDA church but its racist ideology is something I will never accept.

yes, for several reasons...

you know, personally I understand why colored men could have been leaders... and I understand why this woman had to die of pneumonia because the white sda hospital couldnt help her... I understand why German SDA churches collaborated with the nazis... probably because we should submit ourselves to the government...

no seriously, these are just a few reasons why I prefer to stick to my own ideas and concepts... not really my own that is

when I started my journey of faith I was freed from any prejudice, but in the SDA prejudice still exists, some people are respected more than others, like doctors, pastors... and I guess some races are superior and some are inferior. I highly doubt that is the way of the kingdom of the Lord. Arent we all equal? THan why are some more equal than the others?

The bible doesnt make a difference, why do we?

Honestly I look down on such foolish things as in that example presented by contended, people have to die because of the skin color, people have to die because they dont have any insurance....

so how is the SDA better than the world in these regards? Am I supposed to sponsor this? sponsor the biulding of hospitals which will only be used by the privileged, those who can afford... and years back those who were born white caucasian (or so it seems).

The SDA church is a money making machine. A colporter came to my workplace yesterday selling health books for $40.00 USD which is twice the amount in Barbados. These doctors work at the SDA hospital so since they know that most SDA's are into vegetarianism they are selling these books. No matter how good you take care of your life everyone MUST die, the love of money is what has the church in the position is in today. Do you realise the money that is being made from EG White books, no wonder they have to continually keep the focus on her forget the real founder of Christianity. Reminds me of the position the Apostle Paul found in Corinth.

For those who care about the truth--just go to www.egwhite go to her writtings. When the search field comes on, type in the word colored (that was the term used then)--under book code--leave that blank. Up will come many, many statements you can go to to learn all that she wrote. She condemned the whites for not having done what they should have right after the emancipation and states that they would have been in much better condition had the whites done their job. The whites where to go to the south and train the colored people in medical and missionary work so that they could go and help their own people, which means they would have been in positions of leadership. She talks about a school that was set up for them. There is much there that she said including that God was not pleased with the way that whites were treating their colored "brethren."----Why are people on this forum constantly misrepresenting her stand on racism?? I have no doubt that racism is still in the heart of some people, of all colors. It's one of Satan's favorite weapons. All the SDA churches I've gone to have been a mix of all peoples. Those in positions of leadership come in all colors, including black Presidents of the whole church. Yes, there are also churches that have been set up by ethnicity--Philipino church, spanish churches, black churches because they are in predominately black neighborhoods, and because of people feeling more comfortable hearing their own language. I've never seen a while only church. There are countless black church pastors, and deacons and sabath school teachers--seems like this guy just likes to stir up things--maybe he should look into his own heart.
All churches sell their books--all of them--Catholics have countless books they sell, so do all evangelists--and everyone puts a price on the literature and music and other stuff according to the prosperity of the area. It's so ridiculous and mean spirited to say that SDA's are money making machines!! Joyce Meyer sells her books--even Billy Graham. Get off your soap boxes and clean out your own hearts--they look pretty grimy so far.

Did you read what Dr. Pippin wrote. Why do you all here have to become so defensive whenever someone makes a critical statement against the church or for that matter E.G. White. I read a post from one of the members here, which was posted a long time ago and this is the topic. I am Tired of Hearing About E.G. White I too am tired. It is amazing that all you can hear is defence against her. Does Jesus mean anything to any of you all.

Sis White condemned the whites for not doing their part to help blacks BUT on the one hand she made the statement that they were not to be placed in position of leadership PERHAPS she meant position of leadership over white. re: Conferences. Maybe the above statements is the reason for the separation of the Conferences into Black and White. For your information the question that was asked is why are there black and white conferences. This is nothing more than segregation.

In Barbados the churches are all black since 90% of the population are black and about 5% are white. There is no problem within the local churches, there are not even white members here in Barbados. (I have always been interested in why white folks here in this island are not interested in the SDA church... by the way the SDA church was established here over 100 years ago. I believe if people begin to take off their rose coloured glasses they will begin to see clearly some things that are wrong within the church. What would be your position concerning the SDA hospitals performing abortions. The church is not perfect I agree but can we tell the world about Jesus if we are behaving like the world. Anyone including a church who becomes so defensive when ever they are criticised will never be able to change. As I have said before, I love the SDA church BUT I LOVE JESUS MORE AND I INTEND TO FOLLOW HIM ALL THE WAY.

Is it hard to bring people to a church that has so many flaws? Yes... the struggle to know whether to send a new Christian to an SDA church is always present... but if you look at the alternative, ours is the best of the worst.

It seems to me that most Americans including you do not understand the English Language, the question which was asked and I repeat. WHY ARE THEY BLACK AND WHITE CONFERNCES.
