Separate Black and White Conferences--Part 1

Obviously you look at SDA and Ellen White through your 'colored' glasses and make them out to be racist and evil.

You take one or two quotes regardless of the circumstances and paint them to the color of your choosing. Nowadays, the race is a trump card that settles all arguments.

Did you know that Ellen White channeled money from her own tithe and tithe she received from others to the southern (black) congregations?

Regarding the segregation...have you been to the meetings in regard to this issues? I live in a state that is covered both by the regular conference (where white members are a minority) and the black conference (Allegheny East conference). The regular conference which is made up of white, Hispanic, black, Asian...and the president is Hispanic wants to unite with the black conference. It's the black conference which has been refusing. It's not a racial issue now, it's politics, power, difference in agendas, ways to run the church/conference...

Why?

I'm not a member of the Allegheny East conference. But I'm friends with many of them.

Many of them (in that conference) choose to join them or form churches in that conference because they are unhappy with how things are done in the so called white conference. The black conference generally views the white conference as liberal, back-sliding. They consider themselves to be more conservative and faithful to the Adventist message (true to a degree). But they have problems too in their churches.

Our Pathfinder drum corp had a friendly, and most likely unknown, "beef" with some of the drum corp groups in the East conference. That's all. So we'd go back and forth about who's conference was the "best" when we were younger, that's all.

I avoid the politics. Too much of a headache.

You guys can have it. My drum corp days are over. I tell you what though, for there only having been five of us with our patchwork set of drums, we were pretty alright
