On my job, we just got a new employee who looks a lot like my deceased mom.

Is that normal or weird?

People tell me that I look more and more like my mom as I get older. And people say the same about my daughter, that she looks like me more and more.

It's been over ten years since my mom died, and this is the first time I've seen anyone who looks as much like her as the woman who recently started working at my job.

I would call it coincidence, nothing more. I know one actor who looked like my mom in one role, but I don't think there's anything special about that.

All those old geezers look alike? The old geezers think all them young whippersnappers look alike.

But someone who starts working where I work is a bit more of a coincidence.

Personally, I wouldn't make too much out of it. But that's just me. My point was only that it is not out of the question for there to be other people who do look strikingly like our own relatives.

I should let it go with that comment, but I also do wonder if this person you work with is like your mom in other ways besides looks.
