If you say you are over 18 when you are actually under 18, and you are aware that you are under 18 and also aware that you are saying you are over 18, then yes, you are lying.

However, there are degrees of lying. This is probably pretty minor compared with a lie along the lines of, "I swear, I didn't put cyanide in the gazpacho."

Look at the terms closely. Generally it says "under 18 or with the permission of a parent or guardian." So usually as long as the parents ok it you can go ahead and play the game.

I've never really found anywhere in the bible that says "some" lies are ok. In fact the bible says that a sin done even if you are expecting a good outcome, is still a sin.

And also God lumps liars right next to murderers. Same sentence - same outcome.

As human beings we are all sinners and fall short. Why add to it intentionally?

Because we inherently recognize that a moral system that equivocates murder and lying is an unjust one. Why prop up an unjust system?
