Is this a normal occurrence?

An unusual thing happened to me this morning as I was waiting in line at the grocery store to pay for 6 cabbages I needed for lunch (I am a chef at a corporate dining facility). There was a family in front of me paying for their doughnuts and the 12-13 year old daughter proudly exclaimed and told me that I was going to hell. I replied “Well that’s swell”, simply because it rhymed. She then lays into me about accepting Christ or else and letting Jesus into my heart and so forth. As they were leaving and I am putting cabbage on the conveyor her mother congratulates her on her witnessing and sharing the gospel.

Is this normal Christian behavior or did something happen over the last few years that I missed?

An unusual thing happened in Afghanistan yesterday, October 3, 2016. Is this normal Muslim behavior?

At Least Six Killed 35 Wounded Afghanistan Market Blast

ETA: After checking Wikipedia, murders and attempted murders in the name of Islam happen somewhere in the world, every day, 365 days a year, every year. So yes, this would meet the criteria for a "normal occurrence".

Telling you like that is very uncommon. We care that you get a good rest at night. So, we don't want to bother you if you're already asleep, even if your house is on fire.

I'm sure the girl will fall in line. The majority will let her know that she is rude, inappropriate, judgmental, wrong, disrespectful, pushy, unchristian for telling others what she believes.

I would honestly consider the possibility that you got trolled. The mother makes it less likely to be so, but I personally know people (my Mom's side of the family and a couple of my friends) who would do this just to get a kick out of it.

I'm not entirely sure what tipped them off that you were not Christian though. I would not be surprised if they just guessed.

Maybe horns in the forehead, a tail and a grill fork, what more evidence do you need.
I have been called the devil, haha, hilarious.

Kippah (skullcap) is a pretty good giveaway to someone being Jewish.

There is a right way and a wrong way of witnessing and that definitely was a WRONG way of doing any so called "witnessing", I do think one needs Jesus to be saved but ultimately we each have our own free will to choose and who am I to say who will obtain Salvation??? all I know is what the Word says, and I am sorry you have gone through something like that...

Shalom Robban.

Look on the bright side. At least you're not a (Welsh) Muslim :ebil:

I do look on the bright side, taking in the "small" things in
life,

Though we may walk through the valley of thorns,
He places out wellsprings.

So, what is the conclusion,
One way to see it could be,

New day, new opportunity,
As the saying goes;

"When opportunity knocks,
don't ask someone else to open the door."

Good luck to you in the valleys and hillsides of Wales.

Nice one, and thank you.

My avatar is the Japanese character ‘Akebono’. On one level it means ‘dawn’, or ‘daybreak’. On a higher level it means the start of a new challenge, a new opportunity. Japanese companies (I once worked for NSK) often display this character when opening new factories, or starting new business ventures. At my age, every day is an ‘Akebono’ event!

Oh, come now, you are not that old. I thought that Welshmen were almost immortal.

By the way, did you ever spend all your Maundy Money Queen Victoria gave you back in ’54? :D

Oi, don't be cheeky (I'm beginning to think that girl was correct after all) :)

I take it that most here don't care for missionaries?
Is that a surprise ?
IN Africa and the Soviet Union a century ago, give or take some, then since then,
the persecuted church assemblies
publicly asked the churches in the usa to STOP SENDING MISSIONARIES and to STOP SENDING ANYONE with demonic music/ revivals with demonic music/ etc etc etc...
Naturally, this has never been headline news in the usa nor in most of the churches bulletings. Who would want people to know?

On the plus side, in line with all SCRIPTURE, the persecuted underground assemblies in other countries have been praying for the people in the usa, especially for the 'churches' here.
