CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't mind putting my email address up here if you like, cos ut isnprotected anyway against unwanted things. Would that help? Then I can email you my number. Once you have got my email address I could edit the post to erase it and write something else in instead?

Today is a bad day . I have t o go for an anaesthetic a ssessment and I don't think I can do it. An anaesthetic is dangerous to me. It is for eye surgery that may or may not work. I don't want it. Everyone is pushing me. I just don't feel I can do this. I don't want a d angerous anaesthetic. Thankyou so much foor the vid Mountain Girl and for the offer to chat. I will contact you via PM.

Unless you go to this appointment you will not have enough information to make an informed decision as to whether to have the surgery or not.
You are not seeing a young Doctor - you are meeting with the Consultant anaesthetist - he may say you are not fit for anaesthesia and that then is the end of the discussion.
The final decision as to whether to go ahead with surgery is YOURS and yours alone BUT you have to have help making that decision - are you fit for Anaesthesia - that's down to the Anaesthetist, can the procedure be done safely - that's down to the Anaesthetist and the Ophthalmic Surgeon and you should expect them to talk with each other and with you about the pros and cons

Even if I am told they will do it, I don't want it. It IS dangerous, and we KNOW that, but they would most likely advocate taking the risk. I can't do that. I know it sounds stupid to anyone else, but at least I am alive now. I have a feeling my decision has been made whatever is said today, because I don't want the risk.

I know. It is just that other PEOPLE push. And at this moment it is not good for me lol. I know you will understand. Actually, my parish priest has told me he totally understands if I make the decision not to go ahead, and said that God has used me so much as a blind person - which I kbow is true. I would like to see little Hope grow up though. I guess I am in a quandary. Mi joked with my,priest, saying that I am not in themleast bit bothered about seeing PEOPLE lol, but only the dog. He he
