I dont listen 2 worldy music anymore cuz i feel like any music that isnt glorifyng god has no purpose....worldy music is all owned by the devil and he uses it 2 try 2 bring us away from the lord...so no u shouldnt listen 2 it

I think that God created all things, and in that, He created all styles and types of music, knowing that we all are individual and unique in what we like and what touches our hearts. If the lyric and the annointing on a song is of and about God, then enjoy it to your hearts content, whether it be Bill Gaither or Skillet. But don't let music become your focus. It is wonderful, but don't forget to have your quiet time to get alone with God.

People sing "Above All" all the time without even thinking about how much they are blaspheming. So obviously, it isn't only non-christian songs that can be bad to input into yourself but supposed "christian" ones as well.

I think we really need to look at the lyrics of a song and decide whether or not it is good. So yeah...I agree with you pretty much.

Would you mind explaining how "Above All " is blasphemous? Because it is totally beyond me apparantly?? Thanks.

I think you got your answer. If it doesn't agree with your spirit and God's word about what things glorify Him, don't listen to it. If you used to be a certain way before you got saved let that all go....it's dung, as it states in the book of Eccl. and in Romans. Always look to God before you listen to any such music... Forgetting about the past and pressing on to the high calling of Christ Jesus. By the way, Your old man has been crucified with Christ, it is no longer you who live but Jesus who lives inside of you. Present yourself a living sacrafice holy and acceptable to God.
It's pretty dangerous to flirt with the past things that kept you away form God. Now that you are "radical" God will use you in every circumstance that your in. Praise God!

Christ "took the fall" for us, in being He died in our place, when it should have been us on that cross. And He did it thinking of me, above all the other things He could have done. He could have chose to have 10,000 angels come down, but instead he chose to die for me, and you, above all that He was. He laid down his divinity to become our sacrifice. That is what that song is about. Im just sorry you don't see that.

the words "above all" imply that He was thinking of "me" foremost in His mind. If this is true, then Christ is an idol worshipper.

He did not think of us above all but rather His Father and bringing glory back to Him.
