  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is there any Christian denomination that...

The most important thing was Jesus' teachings. Universal is the wish, for love, equality, happiness, and peace. Whether you believe the enitire story or not there is no way to disagree against the teachings. Jesus' death was not the most important thing to humanity his life was. Any person that travels far and wide to help those in need is a heavenly creature. No matter their faith.

It's called Islam. J/k ;)

Well, actually, we do focus on Prophets' messages more then their sacrificial actions.

To the best of my knowledge, the Catholic church tends to equal it out...mass (called liturgy for Orthodox) has focus on what was brought about by his death, but everyday spiritual life is focused on prayer, repentance, and the path of Jesus's teachings. Many Protestant churches I've been to emphasize not his death, but his resurrection (the Catholic does too but I mean Protestants really are adamant that the resurrection is more important)

What prophet's message do you have at hand along with historical evidence except Quran? What did Jesus teach according to Quran and ONLY Quran?

19:30-32

30. He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah. He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet;

31. "And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live;

32. "(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable;

From this passage, pray and give to charity all your life. Also, be kind to your mother

61:14

14. O ye who believe! Be ye helpers of Allah. As said Jesus the son of Mary to the Disciples, "Who will be my helpers to (the work of) Allah." Said the disciples, "We are Allah.s helpers!" then a portion of the Children of Israel believed, and a portion disbelieved: But We gave power to those who believed, against their enemies, and they became the ones that prevailed.

Do God's work on Earth

4:172-173

172. Christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship Allah, nor do the angels, those nearest (to Allah.: those who disdain His worship and are arrogant,-He will gather them all together unto Himself to (answer).

173. But to those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, He will give their (due) rewards,- and more, out of His bounty: But those who are disdainful and arrogant, He will punish with a grievous penalty; Nor will they find, besides Allah, any to protect or help them.

Worshipping Christ will get you nowhere. Instead, believe in the oneness of God and do good and righteous deeds.

To answer your question, Anonymous...
Yes, every single one denomination; Christ Life is the inspiration to all the People who follow Him.

But, geting down to what the different views of christianity believe... well, there's Christian Spiritism.
Spiritists see Christ as the Most Perfect Guide and Model God put in this World. Now, Christian Spiritism also believes in the reincarnation, in the "without charity there is no salvation" motto. So, nope, no attorney on cross for us, we stick with His Teaching and His Life

This obsession regarding the whole theme of "Sacrifice" has always confused me. Instead of looking at Jesus' moral teachings, his words and convictions, most (fundamental) Christians just go about yelling: "He has DIED for us! He has DIED for us! HALLELUJAH!" And everything that's described beforehand is just brought up to show that this sacrifice was really the essence of it, the only important thing in his life.

But it hasn't always been this way: In the beginning, most images depicted Christ as the loving shepherd, holding the lost (and found) lamb. Only later, when the clergy was established and every differring brand of christianity was exterminated, did the symbol of the tortured Christ on the Cross such prominence.

:) hi!
well, wouldn't say that there was an actual denomination that does this bcus all should, but there are different people in different denominations. What i can say is that as Christians, our concentrations is on the teachings Christ gave us b4 he was on the cross, and his resserection which brings us eternal life if we just except Him. :) :clap:

Worshipping Christ will get you nowhere. Instead, believe in the oneness of God and do good and righteous deeds.

While I am holding a New Testament full of Christ teachings and an Old Testament of His prophecies, you could only quote me 6 verses from the Quran about Christ's teachings... So much for a prophet in islam who did many miracles (recorded and approved by Quran) who was born miraculously...

Worshipping Christ will get me where I want to be with Him! And sorry if Muhammad conjectured and mislead you, Christians believe in the oneness of God and do good and righteous deeds....

Again, at what point of history Christians believed in 3 gods?

What about the REssurection?

Ok so we understand his teachings, ok so we understand his Death, but we have Yet to understand the Fullness of both these things in HIS RESSURECTION!!

In his Ressurection we understand the oneness of God. The Fullness of God is in Him. He was human and he died, but we seem to forget the number one theme that flows through everything. and In His ressurection we understand that He is God.

The Fullness of Father Son and Spirit is in Him in His Ressurection.

The Lord is One. Even if it takes breaking him down into pieces just to grasp this one fact.

That to me, as a christian is more important.

You certainly can't separate His teachings from His actions, unless you want to do what Isam does, water Him down to an almost usless creation. To take away Jesus's divinity is to render Him absolutely useless. If Jesus did not die for my sins and to ressurect my life, I do not need Him. I can find my own path just as the nonChristians do.

That is the reality of life. It is that simple.

Well I think any church should be based upon the teachings and Christ's life, but it is the CROSS. We, as Christians must look at Jesus' death, the cross, and his resurrection. If not, then there is no reason why we are all here. It is because of his death that we are Christians. It is the cross that's the foundation of our Christian life. If there was no death, then we would not be here.

However, if you are not a Christian, then yes, you would not see the need of Christ's death. But without him, there is no other way.

As useless as Moses. Is that what you think of Moses—useless?

The teachings of Christ are the teachings of the Bible... His death is what set men free from sins, not His teachings.. He's teachings further a Christian to grow in grace.. But don't look to denominations, look to the Bible.. What does it say is more importent? Or what it focus' on?
