I have known several dogs with different colored eyes - one dark brown and the other pale blue.

The smile is unique to humans not just because of the unique array of muscles that enable us to show emotions on our face, but because we can interpret those emotions.

If you had ever owned a dog, you would know it smiles when it's happy. In fact many of its expressions mimic human expressions.

I've owned many dogs and while they can make a happy face, they can't smile.
Their lower jaw can drop open and curve like a smile, but not their lips.

I'm pretty sure even monkeys are unable to emote a smile.

Yes and no, like even with other primates showing teeth like we do is sign of aggresion, but they still laugh and I think have a smile, it's just differently done.
