Is "The Sims" Ok?

Oh yeah, my parents won't let me get "M" rated games. But I found that you can remove Gore and foul words from the Game, and that it probably reduces the rating to "T".

Is there any other game like this?

3) Prophets, like it or not, are mages by almost every definition of the word. They draw upon a fount of power (in this case God) and perform wonders. The frogs could be called a Summon. Parting the water could be called Hydromancery

Violence does affect people, in fact several professors have studied and tested violence in games, and found out that it acctualy does make people more aggressive!

And things going into you body do not affect you? Do you think that porn does not affect people? People who have looked at stuff like that carry images of sex in their heads for the rest of their lives!

Their are only two kinds of prophets, true/real prophets, and false prophets.
True prophets are of God, and false prophets are of the devil, there is no in between.

Whoa! Kam, I'll have too TOTALLY disagree with you! One, we are the temple of God. I don't think God wants us to put "garbage" in his temple. Two, prophets are NOT mages. The miracles and signs were performed by God! He used people to do them through, but they were his works, not the prophets. Hydromancery? , that is worse than the explanation that the "parting" of the Red Sea was just some reeds, moved by the wind. The people are not drawing power from God, God is using his power through people. It's not like the people could just use God's "power" whenever they felt like it. And when Moses tried to make it appear as if he called water from the rock by tapping it twice, God rebuked him for trying to make it look like he was in control not God. I really hate to say it, but your entire post was not biblically sound. honor your Father and Mother? As long as they don't go against what God tells us, they are to be obeyed and respected.

Just point them to weekly TV programs or recent movies and then show them the sims. It's no comparison. It's perfectly safe, other than consuming a lot of your time due to the gaming addiction

That's a little better. Please understand that when most people say "Prophets are just like Mages" they are talking about "God" on equal terms to "white magic".

This of course is FAR from the truth. Even the most kind hearted white whitch is of course sadly drawing from a source that is not God, and thus is a decepetion.

As for you Mum, NO she is NOT retarded. She is deceived. She is still your mother, and she is still human. Therfore Christ calls you to love her and to honour her. THis does not mean that YOU have to follow her conversion to Krishna, but I would say that your attitude towards her on here is un-likley to make her want to come to know Christ.

I wasnt calling her herself retarded, just her actions. I love my mother and respect her as a person but her judgement in this manner was questionable. she was a God fearing Jesus loving pious Christian before meeting her current boyfriend. Shes in my prayers so no worries, mate.

As for magic:

I simply do not believe that all magic is evil. I believe some of it is perfectly fine in God's eyes. Or rather, its not what you use, but where you got the ability to use it from, and how you use it.

I mean come on. if I were able to heal wounds I would do it. The ability to heal would logically not come from an evil source and it would be hard to obtain. The darkness isnt stronger but it is supposedly easier and less wholesome, even unpleasant.

if you suddenly found yourself able to heal the injured would you not use your powers for the benefit of your bretheren?

would you really think that a power so selfless and miraculous in nature came from the devil?

I too tried The Sims a while back, while it was alright it never got me hooked. Friends and some family however, that's a different story. There's definitely a ton of worser games out there you could be playing. If your parents can accept UT2K4 they shouldn't even have the slighest problem with The Sims.

I loved the sims when i first got it, but i am getting bored with it now and cant afford the expansion packs.
There is a crystal ball, and a magic potion set but you can delete them, if you have a problem with the grim reaper (prob not, but you never know) you can replace it with the angel of light.
you can download pulpits and pews and make your sims go to the church you build if you have hot date or unleashed. Vacation is fun too.
