  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Since a thread on this topic was closed by the OP awhile back, I thought I would start one it.
The below is the OP of that thread and would like to ask if this view is held by only a few sects/denominations within Christianity or is it more widespread?
I never heard of this view until I saw it on another thread.
So how many here agree with this "Sunday being the mark of the Beast?

http://www.christianforums.com/t6982.../#post44368491

*snip*
quote other OP: Is Sunday worship the mark of the beast? I am becoming convinced that the 7th day adventists might be right about this after all (I'm not an adventist, we don't have that religion over here).. I quote from William Cooper's book 'Behold a pale horse'...The Pope has challenged world leaders by claiming that the people of the world already recognise the authority of Rome because they observe the Sunday Sabbath that was ordered by the Pope in the council of Laodicea in AD 364. The seventh day, the sabbath as handed down to Moses by God is Saturday, the celebration of Sunday as the sabbath is verification that the people recognize the Pope as superior to God''..........

The Mark of the Beast is directly tied in with buying and selling.

Where is the connection between *enforced* Sunday worship and exchanging money for goods/services?

Stores don't have an agenda, as they want your money by selling you stuff. Plain and simple.

You also can't have *everyone* work on Saturday, as there wouldn't be enough jobs to go around. You also can't enforce a single day for shopping each week (Saturday) as that would cause the economy to crash, and it's simply unrealistic.

What laws could state is that all financial transactions are held back until the upcoming Saturday, but that would mean billions of transactions going through at once - the system may not be able to keep up.

Good post......while Sunday Worship could be attributed as "changing the times and the law", it is certainly not the mark of the beast.

I personally choose to rest on Saturday. But I pray and give praise(worship) each day, and I commune with the Church on Sunday since I belong to a Baptist Church these days.

The MOB, is described a physical mark.....seen or unseen is not noted, but what is often overlooked when discerning it, is the fact it can be "REPLACED" "OFFSET" by worshiping the image.

For example, the ppl of Africa are so scattered and technology is so limited, that giving each person on the continent a microchip implant would be counterproductive. Also, as their children are born mostly in huts or tents, or even the jungle, the children would not be available for marking in a manner which could be enforced/verified.
However, as food distribution goes, the destitute of the world come in droves to the "aid" trucks carrying rice, etc.....
The MOB for these types would simply forcing the worship of the banner/"image" of the beast, ie the UN flag, the US flag, the actual beasts.

For the technological world, the microchip implant would allow for buying/selling with no other mechanics except your right hand, or perhaps a scan of your forehead. :sorry:

Is Sunday worship mark of the beast?

Well since God says His Sabbath is His sign (or mark) between Him and His people, it would make sense that the countefeit Sunday sabbath would be the mark (or sign) of the beast, between the Beast and his people.
It sounds reasonable and at least should be considered.
Thank you. Consider it considered.......

Just humor me on this:

3 US states have out-right banned the enforcement of microchip implants (Wisconsin, North Dakota, California).

Here's the wording from the California bill:

SB 362, Simitian. Identification devices: subcutaneous implanting. Existing law accords every person the right of protection from bodily restraint or harm, from personal insult, from defamation, and from injury to his or her personal relations, subject to the qualifications and restrictions provided by law. This bill would prohibit a person from requiring, coercing, or compelling any other individual to undergo the subcutaneous implanting of an identification device, as defined. The bill would provide for the assessment of civil penalties for a violation thereof, as specified, and would allow an aggrieved party to bring an action against a violator for damages and injunctive relief, subject to a 3-year statute of limitation, or as otherwise provided.

Also, the enforced Sunday worship law would come under 'Sharia Law'. But Australia is denouncing all Sharia law:

Cookies must be enabled. | The Australian

With these laws in place....either a) Microchip implantation/Sunday enforcement isn't the Mark...B) That prophecy has been stopped. C) These laws from two different countries will eventually be overturned.

that's a good observation . i definitely did make the correlation between the similarities between the two .. now if we take what is called "under the law" couple it with the letter that brings death . and notice how the bible is made into a "law unto itself" these days .. perhaps there are phylacteries that are as blasphemy .. the kind that is like those who eat unclean food in a cauldron and say to others .. get away from me .. i am holier than thou .. hmm a very poignant question .. especially today .
