His fate is between him and God. Who has the right to take judgement from Adonai? I would like to mention as much as anyone would like to guess, we have a limited knowledge of both heaven and hell. 'Eternal torment' is mentioned, but is this to say physical torture, the torture of being away from God, the torment of no longer existing? Who's to know but God?

How about this creationist website:
So just how can we know what God's opinion of what some of Mr. Irwin's activities might be? We can't call him up on a toll-free number to ask him, but we have something just as good available to us in the form of his revealed word to us, the Bible. The area of the Bible that I'd like to zero in on is what God has to say about evolution and those who promote it (see our link titled "The fate that awaits evolutionists"). The promotion of evolution is not a trivial matter. If you read the link about the fate that awaits evolutionists, you can see for yourself that God has some pretty strong words to say about those who create stumbling blocks to the faith of children (something evolution clearly does).
If he did not have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ before he died, then it is horrifying to think about the fate that most likely awaits him on Judgment Day.
However, it is naive to dismiss the possibility that God may have directed his wrath against him just because of how "good" one thinks Mr. Irwin may have been. It also demonstrates a poor understanding of what God tells us about himself concerning his wrath and judgment. There are several reasons to at least consider the possibility that his "accidental" death may in fact have been a judgment from God.
  1. Mr. Irwin engaged in what God tells us in scriptures that he considers to be an exceptionally wicked practice of causing Christians to stumble in their faith. He did this by his unrepentant promotion of evolutionism.
  2. Because he had such a large worldwide audience and was so entertaining and likeable (and therefore very influential), common sense would suggest that he was probably a very large blip on God's radar screen.
  3. God tells us in Romans 9 that he sometimes will put up with (what he refers to as "longsuffering") with those who are engaged in unrepentant wickedness so that at some point he can make an example of them by eventually directing his wrath against them.
  4. Given the completely unexpected way Mr. Irwin was killed by a normally docile creature that has only killed 2 other people in Australia prior to this, it almost looks like God may have caught him off-guard the very same way he's going to catch millions of other non-Christians off-guard when he returns to the Earth in his glorious second coming. See if the way Mr. Irwin died doesn't bear some small resemblance to this prophecy in 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 about the end-times, but on a much smaller scale.
This is disgusting. They're actually seriously considering God killing Steve Irwin?

His fate is between him and God. Who has the right to take judgement from Adonai?
It sure looks like these creationists are implying Steve Irwin is roasting in Hell.

Agreed, I feel it's inappropriate to speculate on this.

Then I sincerely suggest that Christians stop using the threat of hell to frighten and cajole people. After all, it's their ideas. Not God's.

That's all I wanted from the thread. My blood boils when I see some Christians judging other people when their own Bible says that the ultimate Judgement is not for them to decide.

For what it's worth, it bothers me too, Nooj.

Right, hello again

I have cleaned up the thread and removed several posts.

Many of the posts were in reply to a post that had been removed and were therefore rendered off-topic to the OP of the thread. To try and maintain harmony and keep the thread on track I removed them also, I hope you will understand.

Please, if you have any queries then feel free to PM me!

Steve Irwin was a very good man.
He did many good things...and was loved by many.

(I just finished watching the interview tonight...with his wife and Barbara Walters) (it was very good).

With that said...
I will add: Good people do not go to Heaven.
Forgiven people go to Heaven.

The God who created us...
is just.

We have all sinned.
The punishment for sin is death.
Eternal life in Hell.

The same God who created us....
loves us too much to see us spend eternity in Hell.
He will provide a way for us to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

Without the shedding of blood,
there is no forgiveness of sin.

In the Old Testament,
they did this with animal sacrifices.

Looking ahead for the coming Messiah.

He comes...in the New Testament.
Jesus is born.

He is perfect.
Without sin.

He will die...
He is innocent.,and the punishment for my sin...will be upon Him.

I put Him on the cross that day.

His sacrifice of blood,
cleanses my sin. (eternal consequences)

I now have eternal life...
and when I do leave this earth,
I will go to Heaven.

Folks, this is God's plan.
He loves us...
but we cannot forget that He is a just God and is also full of wrath.

God is angry when people refuse to honor Him.

This is the Truth.

No, you do not have to accept this as Truth.

But, someday....when you have left this earth,
you will know this to be the Truth.

It will be too late then.

Five thousand people can come up with different thoughts about what they believe.

The only thing that does matter...is what does God say.
It's all there....in the Bible.

I suggest you read the Book of John.

So, is Steve Irwin in Heaven?
I do not know.
If Jesus was his Savior...
then yes, Steve Irwin is in Heaven.

If Irwin did not know Jesus as his Savior,
then Irwin is not in Heaven, because
God will not allow sin to enter Heaven.

This is not according to TexasGirl06.
This is according to the Word of God.

It is really a tough deal...
when really, really good people die...
and we have to face the fact that if they were not saved, that they have gone to Hell.

What are we saved from?
God's wrath.

I encourage you to seek the Truth.
There is absolute Truth.
You will find it in the Bible.

Remember Jesus did preach in the afterworld to the souls. It is stated in the Bible about the "prison" Jesus went to to preach to the lost souls. We cannot just conclude that this man is in Hell. I do believe in second chances.

I want to say this as gentle and loving as possible People do need to be afraid of Hell, it's a terrible place. And despite contary popular opinion it does exsist. I dont want people to go to hell, neither does God. If they hear the Gospel and reject the only atonement for sin, unfourtunately that's where they will go. Great or small, rich or poor, slave or free...it does not matter, it is appointed once for a man to die and then comes judgement. No, you shouldnt beat people over the head with Hell, Fire and Brimstone, however when presenting the Gospel- the good news of Jesus Christ- there is an urgency to warn people of this place, and people need to know that it does exist. If your choice is to reject the only gift of God that covers your sin you can choose to do so, however there will be a terrible price to pay, and you cannot ever stand before God saying you did not know.

I'm sorry, it's ridiculous how these rumours of Steve Irwin being a Christian is being propogated around. Steve Irwin was not a Christian. Therefore, he is in Hell no? An eternity of agonising torture?

Speculation is one thing;l however, to echo what God has said about the fate of those who do not receove the gift of redemption through His Son Jesus Christ, is neither speculation or judgement!

I cannot say whether or not this or that person has a relationship with the Almighty, yet, I can say as did our Lord Jesus Christ, "...by their fruits you shall know them..." If the fruits of the life of the late Mr. Irwin are not those flowing from a life united to the Vine, then I can safely say nay. Did I like Steve Irwin, you betcha! Did he do some wonderful things for this earth, yes he did!

The difficulty we have, is that in our present cultural atmosphere of "correctness", we've somehow come to accept the notion from the secular world that we cannot use the same criteria Jesus used with the Disciples, Pharisees, Sadduces, the Samraritan woman, the demoniac of Gadera, the blind, the lepers, the Rich Young ruler.

Steve Irwin ranks right up there with the likes of Jaques Cousteau, Jane Goodal, and others whose passion about their lifes' work, proved they were good stewards of creation. From what we have of the Holy Bible however; being a good steward of creation is not the criteria God gives for entrance into His Kingdom. Do I know whether or not Mr. Irwin ever accepted God's offer of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ; No I do not. Nor will I say there's no possiblilty that he will spend eternity away from the presence of God in torment. This is one of those useless speculations about which the Scriptures warn us, people would be occupied with in the end times. I mean, honestly, what does this profit our souls?

I have to say, it's too bad when people try to capitalize on other people's tragedies just to score cheep emotional points for their own point of view. :sigh:

A double amen to that statement!
I loved Steve Erwin even though I never met the man. I don't have to judge Him or God, but can rest in peace knowing all is never lost with God. We may see Steve again someday.
