That's cool dude. Just be sure that you mention this when going head on with a christian which is exactly the level of help many new christians need.

My sin has been with me for many years. Not a day goes by that i continue to bash it down, run it over, thrown away and beaten with a stick. I do screw up sometimes and i do sin. But heck oh heck i hate it. Repentance is difficult for me. 13 years in the fighting. God gets me through everyday.

He capitalized D on Dad, so I would imagine he ment God.

My Dad is the one meant with that. He’s the only one I can talk to about anything. Others would tease me about some of the things I talk to Dad about. A lot of the teens I know say that they could never talk to their parents about some of these things, but I know I can talk to Dad and he won’t make fun of me. He loves me too much for that.

But I know God is my father in heaven. I don’t think of God as my best friend. I think that kindda make Him lesser if I do that. God is God. I WANT Him to be God, I NEED Him to be God. Nothing less. Does that make sense? Sometimes I have a hard time saying what I mean.

Yes, I wrote my warnings with good intentions. I have to laugh at your approach against me (for I once treated advice this way). Was my advice not biblical, and are we not all human? Never get too careless and self-confident not to take good advice. Rather, learn to remain silent and listen rather than reply:

“Yeah, I know that!”

Well, I kindda goofed on that one. It was supposed to be:

Yeah, I know that!

Careless, I get that way sometimes. Self-confident? I guess…. But how can you tell the difference? I mean, this is something I know, but I don’t want to make it sound like I know it all when I know I don’t.

And questioning remarks like

makes one willing to give advice less eager to give it, simply because I suggested that you pray. It was as if you treated me as an idiot having not read the Bible. (This is simply my advice on listening to advice).[/qoute]

I didn’t mean to do that,, really! I was just trying to show you that I do know some of the things the bible says, that’s all. I don’t think you’re an idiot. You said a lot of good things.

Again, I was like you but I found out quickly I don't know it all and neither do you, or anyone at that matter. Never treat anyone willing to offer advice this way in the future, OK? You'll learn so much more when you listen rather than reply with your mouth. (This is advice I, myself, had to gulp down... and it is tough at times).

PS. Another good lesson I've learned just recently is never judge a man's heart so quickly; I wrote it out of love. Does a man give advice for ill-will or to express his concern and care?

Mounts, I’m sorry if I got you mad at me. I didn’t mean to, and I know you were trying to help me. Thing is, a lot of the answers were about telling me what I should do, but I had already taken care of it. I just wanted to see what other people here thought, that’s all.

On all your posts you have "The best friend I've ever had is the one I call Dad." It sound like you and your dad have a killer relastionship, so i was wondering which dad are you talking about? your earthly or heavenly father?

Well, this one's bout my earthly dad. I'll tell you the same ting I told Mounts:

Mounts, I’m sorry if I got you mad at me. I didn’t mean to.

No, I wasn't mad at all. I was laughing when I typed up my reply. I'm a teen just like you, and I had/have the same attitude as well. I'm just finding out that this isn't the attitude you should have if you're really interested in learning. Elders are willing to give you advice when they know their words will be heard and not in vain.

No, don't worry about it, I didn't think anything of it. We've both got a lot to learn before we can teach, and that's the sad reality of being a youth... (sigh). Anyway, glad your problem was handled, and blessing in your future struggles with sin.

I guess I goofed too, I should have spiced up my reply with some faces!
