Is "secular" music ok to listen to?

See this is just one more reason I am so happy I'm not a Christian. I never have to wonder or worry about 'issues' like these. If a band sounds good, I'll just listen to it. If a book seems interesting, I'll just read it. If a movie looks appealing, I'll just watch it.

You should be able to do whatever you want to do regardless of your faith.

Ironic. I am a Christian and I have none of those problems.

When I was a teenager I had both secular and Christian music CDs in my library. My mom (a conservative Christian) came and broke my secular CDs in half and she made me cry when she did that. Nowadays I actually agree with her, now that I am older and wiser. Some of the stuff I owned actually had bad lyrics in them, I am glad she did that. I see her wisdom. Thanks, mom. :) Someday I hope to be as wise as you.

Recently I went through my entire room and removed anything that I deemed was sinful. Books, movies, music, I got rid if it all. Now that I am older I have much more knowledge of the Bible under my belt and I can better understand the difference between what is sin and not sin. When I was a teenager I did not have that kind of discernment.
