When Adam ate of the tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil, he essentially declared that *he* would determine for himself what was good and what was evil. That's what the tree was all about.
Prior to his disobedience, Adam's knowledge of good and evil came from God. God determined it for him. Adam (and his offspring) didn't like that, so he decided to determine the course of his actions for himself.
The essence of sin is: Nobody tells me what is right or wrong. *I* determine that for myself! Nobody tells me what to do. . .
This is also what the relativist does. Is it not? Peal back a few layers of a relativist and you will discover defiance at his core. This is my assertion. Anyone agree?
Is relativism just another word for Sin?
