Is Minecraft Evil or Spiritual Dangerous? Can Christians Play Minecraft?

I wouldn't classify minecraft as good or evil, but I would call it a colossal waste of time. If I can get my son to make something out of rubber bands and popsicle sticks it is a small victory. In minecraft making things requires little thought and effort. Making things in the real world requires thought, work, develops skills and most importantly patience. It also produces a tangible result. In this world of instant gratification patience and perseverance is a thing that is sorely lacking.

People very often see what they want to see, even if there's nothing there.

If you have a mind that is prone to think that the devil is in everything, you can convince yourself the devil is in everything.

Minecraft itself is not so dangerous when your building stuff. It's when you go multi-player, than it can get dangerous. Certain servers are adult servers, where anything goes.
Parents should be looking into where the kids are going in Minecraft, and what servers they are joining.

I am asking this question in regards to a lady whose son loves this game. He has posters on his wall in his bedroom of this game. I have no clue at all if this game has evil intentions or good, it's hard to know these days. I tried looking it up on the internet and got various answers. Some are saying it's inviting evil spirits into their home and others seem to not be bothered by the game. So I am looking for "advice" as to anyone out there that may know for sure if this game can open doors to evil or not? Again, this is not my child and I am seeking answers for his mom. She has been dealing with terrible things happening in her home for 9 yrs and is trying to get to the root of the problem. Her daughter is suicidal and does self harm. The mother is deeply depressed and sometimes suicidal. The teenage boy is suicidal and the father sleeps in seperate bedroom from the wife and has for 9 years and the marriage is failing. Everyone there is always fearful and they only experience "some" relief when they are outside of the home. There is alot more detail to this story but I am trying to keep it brief. So any info about this game would help me, thank you.

I played a MMORPG called Everquest for 20 years. I was addicted from age 10-31. I only quit video games completely recently. due to a gambling addiction with buying in game currency leading to me being broke early in the month. Im not familiar with minecraft to well, but my hubby who passed away recently 7 months ago played it. I dont know if your aware of what everquest is, but its got scary elements, theres even a planar portal called Plane of Torment, where creatures and the players battle evil creatures and the music and sound is people screaming in pain and the music is horrfic to listen to. I hated doing torment for a weapon peice i needed for my musician toon. I took my revenge on the main boss, Known as The lady of torment, Saryn. It was my way of getting past the fear. But yes everquest is highly addictive and i wouldnt reccomend for anyone below age 21. Besides that the community is highly toxic and sexual . Stay out of games like that unless your in full control of yourself. it can easily lead to bullying, gambling, and fear filled dreams.
