I was wondering if masturbation is a sin? Like No porn, no thoughts or nothing. Just the sexual desire to want to have sex but in the act you’re not thinking about anyone sexual.. if anything what I am saying makes sense, lol

The first thing we must understand is …what is sin?

Many people are so sin conscious in their walks they neglect the grace that has been bestowed upon them. I rarely think about sin because my focus is to walk in Son consciousness. Do blow it …of coarse …but when I do I’m just “Hey Father sorry about that” …and keep on walking. I am not going to waste my time wallowing in sorrow beating myself up ….that’s absurd. We have an advocate with the Father ….His son Jesus Christ (1John 2:1)

Sin is broken fellowship with the Father…. it does not alter your standing as a son/daughter of God just your state ….and when we realize we have messed ….up thank Him for forgiveness ….and keep moving….If we don’t .. and we carry that sin with us .... are we not voiding what God has accomplished for us through Jesus Christ?

There is nothing under the new covenant that says anything about masturbation being a sin. (religion has it's dictates, but that is man derived) But if you think it is ….if you condemn yourself for doing anything ….Now that is a sin, because it goes against Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.

There is no down judgment from God to those of us in Christ Jesus …so why do we take it upon ourselves to condemn ourself …when God does not.

In conclusion: Masturbation is done for lust, pleasure, or to relieve one’s self….. If it’s out of lust (over desire) then it’s a problem …it’s controlling you. If it’s for pleasure …..how many other things do we do for pleasure that we don’t consider wrong …sometimes eating can be done for pleasure, having a drink going to a sporting event ..the list is endless. Reliving stress (anxiety) …if someone does yoga, meditates, runs…. we don’t consider those things wrong….

To be honest: I don’t have a clear cut answer ….biblically….other than to say over desire (lust) is a line outside your control.

Nonsense. I did not even know about sex until told. Let me guess, people just wake up one day and say hey, why don’t I pleasure myself. C’mon…. It is worldly thing brought to our attention by the world by its god and his minions. It is not natural or a natural intended purpose of our bodies.

It's a vexed subject. For men, you have the following:

"Speak to the people of Israel and say to them: When any man has a discharge from his member, his discharge makes him ceremonially unclean" Leviticus 15:2 NRSV

And depending which version you read "member" can mean "body", "flesh" or "penis". And discharge can either be "pus" or "sperm".

But it doesn't say anything about women and masturbation. (Rather like the Bible talks about it is sinful for a man to be a prostitute, but not a woman).

I do not believe masturbation is sinful - depending on the context. So if you are married and think about your spouse or partner, when performing the act that is fine. But if you are married (or in a long term relationship) and think about someone else while doing it, that is sinful, as in

"But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 5:28 NRSV

Again it is directed at men, but Paul also says women should not be adulterous.

Remember at the burning bush God tells Moses to remove his sandals because he is on holy ground. He also tells Moses to tell the Israelites "You shall not go up by steps to my altar, so that your nakedness may not be exposed on it.” Exodus 20:26 NRSV
