Death metal is not the "in" thing, it's hardly "widely" accepted. It's not Slipknot, it's not Korn (nu-metal). Sorry, but this got on my nerves. Don't denounce a sub-genre when you don't know much about it. Yes, there are evil people preaching their message in it, but there are also Christians that are very much active in this most extreme form of music. Most bands in the genre don't sing about religion at all. Some sing about ancient Egypt, others political, some mythology. In death metal, it really isn't about the message the band gives, it's mostly about the music, the instruments. Of all musical genres, death metal bands make the least money and have to have other jobs to sustain themselves. It really is about the music. Some of the most musically talented people in the world are in death metal bands.
Sorry if I came across as rude! Just a Christian metalhead wanting to clear up general misconceptions.
Just to annoy ya, what if someone has only a Christian cross tattooed on themselves? Or a Biblical quote?
