Jerusalem has been destroyed many times in its history and is the vocal point of prophecy not Rome, Babylon, the U.S.A. or Russia. It is now, always has been, and will be the Capital City of God. Jerusalem is now being built for its destruction during the last thirty days of the sixth trumpet. Furthermore Jerusalem will be built during the 1000 year kingdom of God and will not be destroyed, and the New Jerusalem comes down out of the New Heaven from God.

Isaiah 13:19-21 Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. [20] It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there. [21] But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

Jeremiah 50:39 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

Zech 2:7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwells with the daughter of Babylon.

If this city in Rev 11:8 is called Sodom and Egypt why can not this city be called Babylon Rev 18:2,3 or the Woman Rev 17:2-5,18?
Mystery, Babylon the Great, is the mystical kingdom of Satan and his angels. And the evil effect they have on the world.

Revelation 18:2-3 is talking about the fall of Satan and his angels kingdom. God begins dismembering their kingdom when the 7th angel sounds his trumpet, Revelation 11:15, and the third woe to the inhabiters of the earth begins in Revelation 12:12.

Over the span of the time, times, half time that the third woe lasts, God continues his destruction of Satan's mystical kingdom.

In Revelation 16:19 is God's seventh vial of wrath poured out. And a global earthquake will take place, splitting the earth's crust into three segments, as God remembers all of the evil that Satan and his angels kingdom has done to lead the world astray to rebel against God.

The king of Babylon has been smiting the Philistines with his rod for more than a year now and have turned their dwellings into rubble.
The cedar trees in Lebanon are being cut down daily by the king of Babylon.

You tell me,who's death would cause the fir trees in Lebanon to sing,?Who death would cause philistines to rejoice?

Isaiah 14
7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

The only city at the time of of John's writing of Revelation who ruled over the kings of the earth was Rome.
There is only ONE city that the Bible ever designates as "Reigning over the kings of the earth".

Earthly Jerusalem, by Divine right and calling, was the preeminent city among all nations. The Hebrew/Biblical understanding of Jerusalem is that she is the "Chief of the nations" (Jeremiah 31:7; Ez 5:5), the Queen city of the earth (Lam 1:1/Rev 18:7). She, by Divine right and covenant, was appointed as the head of all nations (Deut 26:19; Deut 15:6; Deut 28:1,10-13), and the gentile kings recognized God's dwelling was at Jerusalem with the Hebrews (1 Ki 10:24; Luke 11:31; Ezra 1:2; Dan 2:47, 3:28-29, 4:1-3, 4:17, 4:34-37; Ezra 1; Ezra 4-7; Ezra 7:15,23).

The Governor of all nations (Ps. 22:28) lived in Jerusalem in his House (Ez 7:15,23), and all the kingdom, power and might over earth was His (1 Chron 29:11-12). Indeed, all kings receive their power to rule from that Divine King (Rom 13:1-2,6; John 19:11; 1 Pet 2:13-14,17; Ez 1:2; Dan 1:1-2; Dan 2:20-21; Dan 2:37-38; Dan 2:47, Dan 3:28-29; Dan 4:1-3,17,34-37.).

Jerusalem is the strongest candidate in my opinion for these reasons.
  • In the gospels, Jesus says that "upon you may fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. Truly I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. 'Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. Behold, your house is being left to you desolate!'"
  • In Revelation the saints rejoice because the judgment pronounced against the Harlot: "And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth."
  • In Revelation it also mentions the Great City and two witnesses therein: "And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified." Christ was crucified in Jerusalem.
  • Additionally God has a precedent for calling Jerusalem "Sodom". In Isaiah it says: "You rulers of Sodom; Give ear to the instruction of our God, You people of Gomorrah."
I will concede that the portions of Revelation regarding the Harlot also directly quote Isaiah in regards to Babylon.
  • Isaiah 47: "Now, then, hear this, you sensual one, Who dwells securely, Who says in your heart, 'I am, and there is no one besides me. I will not sit as a widow, Nor know loss of children.' But these two things will come on you suddenly in one day: Loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in full measure In spite of your many sorceries, In spite of the great power of your spells."
  • Then again in Revelation: "Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. To the degree that she glorified herself and lived sensuously, to the same degree give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, 'I SIT as A QUEEN AND I AM NOT A WIDOW, and will never see mourning.'"
But we do have precedent biblically for this wicked woman having been moved from one capital to another, namely in Zechariah when the wicked woman is revealed and being transported from Israel to Babylon.
  • Zechariah 5: Then he said, "This is Wickedness!" And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah and cast the lead weight on its opening. Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens. I said to the angel who was speaking with me, "Where are they taking the ephah?" Then he said to me, "To build a temple for her in the land of Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal."
  • This transfer of her location to Babylon (in Shinar) coincides with the exile of Jerusalem. If this woman wickedness is her (which to me is reasonable) then it is evidence her capital can move with the ages. She may be identified as mystery babylon because of her residence there in the past when she is directly confronted in Isaiah.
But of course, we cannot forget that "on her forehead a name was written, a mystery," and this mystification about her identity simply may not be resolved at this time, and may not be resolved until the time of wrath when the proclamation of her downfall is decreed to the earth in the eternal gospel of Revelation 14.

I learned about 15-20 years ago the beast from the sea is the Israeli government.Jerusalem is Babylon and everyone in Israel except the saints get the mark of the Israeli government.

The people in Israel have no shame. They dont care about anyone but themselves and it's showing everyday.Babylon is falling.

Revelation 14
8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

If any man worship the beast ,they shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God ,and that cup is given to Babylon to drink.

Revelation 16
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Lol.No, Israel/Jerusalem is not Babylon. Babylon is the world political/religious hybrid that rises to power during the tribulation period. Jerusalem and Israel will never fall. Jesus will sit on the throne of David IN Jerusalem. Israel is the apple of God's eye, even while in disobedience. He has NEVER abandoned Israel and He never will. Understanding prophecy is not this difficult.

Jerusalem is governed by Benjamin Netanyahu's government

If Jerusalem doesn't fall ,then antichrist will reign forever.

Before Jesus can sit on the throne of David in Jerusalem.Bejamin netanyahu (who rejects Jesus)and his antichrist government must fall .Jerusalem must fall.

Understanding prophecy is not that difficult.

In Rev 11:2 does the holy city identify Jerusalem and is this the city built in Dan 9:25 and Rev 18:19 and spoken of in Matt 24:15 2Thes 2:2-4 Dan 9:26?
Zechariah 14:16-19:

> "Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain. If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The LORD will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles."

It looks like the New Jerusalem will be like a world capital. I think I will be given a condo, a place to stay when we go there once a year to pay our respect for the new government. I am sure there will be plenty of rooms for whoever needs a place to stay when they go there to visit.
