Could you name any fiction books or fictional t.v. shows that claim their characters are real? Imagination is great! It's part of what gets you where you want to be in life. But, I feel there is a line that differentiates your imagination from your beliefs!
I imagine I'm a knight in shining armor, come to rescue my wife from the world's evils!

But what I know to be the truth (believe in) is that she a strong-willed person who can make it on her own, without my help.(rescuing)
It is harder for a child to discern truth from reality. That's why parents should be more careful as to what they teach their child. I, for one, would hate to keep my child from God (truth). I mess things up with my children too easily. So I try to get as many things right as I possibly can.
I'll admit, I was one to tell my kids that Santa brought all these gifts and placed them under the tree. But lately, it has really been bothering me that i've done this. I feel that I am lying to my children. So, I won't be promoting the lie anymore. (My 9 year old almost has it figured out, regardless!)
BTW....this is my second Christmas as a Christian. I say this not as an excuse for any of my actions, just to help y'all understand why I've been struggling with this "Satan,....oops Santa" thing!
