That said, there are certain animals I would never eat, like primates. They're just too close to humans for me to feel comfortable with eating. As for cats and dogs....hey, when in rome.....

I'd eat monkey if it was the only thing available, frankly, when I saw the movie "Alive" I wondered why it took them so long to figure out that their food supply was actually much greater than previously thought. And refridgerated to boot!

No, you have to grill them!

What's wrong with eating people?! Anthony Hopkins does it.

Gator's good. Squid's good too. Both are a little rubbery, though.

So if it's not immoral to eat cat (which I don't think it is), what's immoral about eating other humans? You still gotta kill them against their will if you wanna eat them, the only difference is, it's the same species that you are. While from an evolutionary perspective it wouldn't be helpful for the survival of the species, I really see little that would be morally wrong with eating another human. Not that I would, I'm content with venison and good ol' beef. I probably won't try cat either, even though I almost did once (went to a restaurant that served 'gato', I didn't know gato meant cat and I almost ordered a gato taco :D)

You don't necessarily have to kill them against thier will to eat them, you could find someone that was terminally ill and willing to die at any rate, or something.

Venison's great! Hey, where was that restaurant? Did they serve dog?

True, but it might not be a good idea to eat a person that had a terminal illness. Besides, that's like eating beef from a cow that was too sick to stand his whole life, it would probably be the worst tasting soylent green you could try.

The restaurant is somewhere between mckinney and dallas, I kind of doubt it's still open, or was for long, I don't think selling cat as food is legal in america, but I could be wrong. I don't think they served dog, though.

Kind of reminds me of that movie about the woman who goes to somewhere in korea or japan, and stops to look at a street vendor selling cute little puppies. She thought they were being sold as pets, and was unpleasantly suprised when she was handed her little puppy headless, in a bag :D I kind of feel bad for laughing as hard as I did at that... :)

Consider this:

Mad Cow disease comes from feeding cattle meal that contains cow remains or sheep who were fed meal with sheep remains (ie: cow cannibalism and sheep cannibalism). Do you think that eating another human being might cause disease in humans?

Of course not, haven't you seen soylent green? They were all fine :)

But no, I didn't think about that. I wouldn't like to have mad human disease. On the other hand, there are still many cannibalistic societies, some quick research into those societies would tell us if we had to worry about problems that come with humans eating humans.

Only if you cook them too slowly. If you cook them too slowly, meat will turn to rubber.

And be sure to prepare mustard sauce to go with them, using REAL (Dijon) mustard from France, not French's. Otherwise, I cannot not be responsible for the results.

From my understanding, about the only problems come from eating brains, but that's only particular parts in particular people being eaten by, again, particular people.

There's a great game resturant in Colorado Springs, everything from boar to kangaroo. (The kangaroo is particularly good.)

That's actually a cool movie. ^_^ Have you actually seen it? I luv sci-fi, especially that old stuff, before they had a lot of special effects. There was a movie on this past weekend called Fantastic Voyage about these scientists who shrink themselves and their little spaceship, and they travel around inside a human body. It actually had some cool special effects (and Raquel Welch was in it. She was a hottie back then too.. early 60s I think) for that era. But I am highjacking the thread again, so ... back on topic.

Widespread Cannibalism May Have Caused Prehistoric Prion Disease Epidemics, Science Study Suggests

Human flesh may have been a fairly regular menu item for our prehistoric ancestors, according to researchers. They say it's the most likely explanation for their discovery that genes protecting against prion diseases -- which can be spread by eating contaminated flesh -- have long been widespread throughout the world.
