I wouldn't say that means they ever have. If simply singing about Christ in one song put a band in that category I'd be stumped.

Well, Davey Havok, the singer is straight edge. (I'm not sure if the other members are as well, but I know for a fact that he is). Of course, that doesn't make him a Christian, but the straight edge lifestyle shares many Christian values. I can't find anything stating that the band considers themselves a Christian band though.

Straight Edge is not religious. It's just a way of living.

I also just checked the lyrics to Miss Murder. Do that, you'll see it's clearly AGAINST Jesus.

Looking at this from a religious perspective, an easy first interpretation to get is Havok speaking of how Christ abandoned his people.

The one line here that seems to be actually related to God is "Omnipotence, nurturing malevolence". Also, he mentioning of "My soul brings tears to angelic eyes" sounds as if he's got a pretty dark soul. Not to mention the song title.

One of the issues in determining is that Havok tends to write relatively amiguous lyrics, aiming for a darker sound. Sometimes he mentions God, and it could be good or bad. Another example similar to this is in System of a Down's song Toxicity. Serg and Daron actually quote Jesus in it, and it doesn't appear to be mocking or bad in any way. Daron even thanks God in the liner notes of the album. Of course, he also proceeds to thank Buddah, Allah, and Lucifer, along with Charles Manson. He thanked God directly... is he a Christian?

Being an AFI fan from way way way back Im pretty sure that they are not christian. Granted I havnt really heard much of there new stuff mainly b/c they up and decided to start sucking.
