Is It Sinful to Use Sex Toys? Are Vibrators & [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] a Sin?

The thing I am concerned about the vibrator is that it can involve lustful thoughts. Masturbation can involved lustful thinking as well. But if I kept my head clear and just focused on what feels good instead of fantasizing about fornication, would that be wrong?

It's pretty difficult to do.

Not necessarily--a really good vibrator can work more quickly than one can gather one's thoughts, and it also kind of depends on the person.

Goodness yes, he might realise that women younger than him use sex toys.

And yet he's the one being unseemly by reading the thread?

Because nobody on CF struggles with lust. Right. I'm sure you'd want a middle aged man advising your teenage daughter on how to use her vibrator.

You conveniently fail to mention that I advised her to move her topic to the women's personal topics area.

Do you just live to make snarky comments to people who weren't even addressing you in the first place? The answer is obviously 'yes'.

Yup. It's all just an icky dirty business and we should totally add another topping of shame to the whole discussion.

I forget, is that one of the No Non-Christians Allowed clubhouses on here or not?

Someone weighing in unprompted on a discussion forum? Of all the things! Clearly this has never happened before in the history of the intertubes! ^_^

Yes, fair enough. And presumably they wouldn't know if they were such a person until they tried one.

again, not necessarily. Some people who discover masturbation as children won't (always) associate it with sexual thoughts because it didn't start out that way--that's just one example. Sexuality is weird, perhaps that's why I find it so fascinating.

People are weird.

In a good way ^_^

I really want to do what God thinks is best, but I am very unsure about this whole issue on the lust part. Also, do you think if I used a vibrator now, would it make losing my virginity hurt less? Or would it stretch me out?

On this last bit, the vibrator might tear your hymen, which is, from what I understand, what makes losing ones virginity hurt. But it is also what most people consider a virgin to have. To be frankly honest though, I haven't had sex or used a vibrator, so I don't know exactly how far they go in or if they do at all (vibrators, I know penises go in, I had sex ed).

To put it vaguely, depends on the device.

If you use force with any toys (or with your partner), you may tear your hymen, which could hurt and cause bleeding. This is why going slow and using lubrication is so important.

But just putting this info here: most women do not have fully intact hymens. This is why it's not supposed to hurt when you have sex (or use a toy) for the first time. This is also why it's not good to use the condition or presence of the hymen to determine if a woman has had sex before or not.

You WILL know if you are one of the few that has an intact hymen- your menstrual blood will not be able to drain (since the vaginal canal is fully blocked by the hymen) and you will need to see a doctor.

O_O Yikes. Didn't know that was possible. Very high toxic shock risk there I assume?

I haven't done a lot of research on the subject, but I would assume yes. I would also think it would hurt a lot, since it'd be putting a lot of pressure on that little area of skin :( Yikes!

Most women tear their hymens as children while running, exercising, or riding bikes, so the condition is fairly rare.

This question has been bothering me for quiet sometime and I am a bit embarrassed to discuss this, but I don't know who to talk to about this issue. I will be 18 soon, and I know starting at that age, it's legal to buy intimate toys. My teen years have been rough abstaining from sexual activity. I want to save myself for my husband. However, my libido is still quiet high after all these years (even while pleasing myself) and the only solution I can think of to help my urges would to be buying a vibrator.

I've been praying about this for a long time, and that's the only thing that keeps coming back to me. I do not want to give in to inappropriate contentography (we obviously know that inappropriate content is a sin) but I cannot find anything about masturbation and use of sex toys in the Bible.

If I use a vibrator, I will stop using it once I am married. Sex is completely fulfilling so I hear, especially when it is between a husband and wife. I know using a toy/inappropriate content/etc instead of making love your spouse is a sin in God's eyes. But what about single people who are using it as a way to keep themselves pure? Would love some advice. :o

The Pledge
I, (DAUGHTER'S NAME)'S FATHER, CHOOSE BEFORE GOD TO COVER MY DAUGHTER AS HER AUTHORITY AND PROTECTION IN THE AREA OF PURITY. I WILL BE PURE IN MY OWN LIFE AS A MAN, HUSBAND AND FATHER. I WILL BE A MAN OF INTEGRITY AND ACCOUNTABLITY AS I LEAD, GUIDE AND PRAY OVER MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY AS THE HIGH PRIEST IN MY HOME. THIS COVERING WILL BE USED BY GOD TO INFLUENCE GENERATIONS TO COME.

"As all the dads stood to read the covenant over their daughters, I felt the power of those words sink right into my heart. My father pledged to protect me and promised to lead a life of integrity and purity for me. He signed his name and I signed as a witness to his words. And as he escorted me to the dance floor I felt empowered by his promise to set the example of honor and purity for me through his life of integrity. I finally had a model to follow for my life and I was so grateful for the strength of my dad and his commitment. I knew I would never be the same."

It would be a terrible idea to buy a sex toy before you are married. Staying pure includes refraining from ALL sexual activity. Make the pledge to stay pure. Sex tools and masturbation of any kind will tarnish the purpose of saving yourself for your future husband.

What would your future husband think of you doing these things?

God bless you!

I don't see the advantage to waiting. I also don't see the advantage to doing it as soon as possible.

It would be better not to tie sex with marriage IMHO. I have seen too many people marry too young just to have sex, and then have it go horrably wrong.

This kind of stuff will mess... you... up.

There is no such thing as "purity." We are all sexual creatures (minus a few asexual humans for various reasons). Teenage guys are having [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] like crazy out of their control (nocturnal emissions if they don't touch). Girls are feeling various levels of libido. You are sexual, and these messages of "purity" lead to marrying the wrong individuals, feeling dirty for absolutely no reason, placing a stigma on sex, creating unrealistic expectations about sex in and out of marriage, and causing undue condemnation of those who do engage in healthy, sexual relationships.

Please, please stay away from beliefs such as this - they are highly destructive.

Thank you.

This kind of thinking screwed me up for years, made me hate myself, and made me hurt myself.
