Is it possible to practice both Buddhism and Christianity?

The problem however is God doesn't like sharing he is jealous and if you try and share him with other gods you will find yourself abandoned to those gods instead of him.

I found that I enjoy seeing God within other religions. As I have learned to see God through the eyes of other spiritual paths I find that I have grown closer to God and more aware of His presence in my everyday life. Finding the Love of God with in the Hearts of others, regardless of their spiritual path, for me, is very much a blessing. God is way too big for any single religion, and seeing Him take shape with in others of other spiritual paths is a simple proof of that Truth. Today, there is no way I could ever deny others their experience of God.

I think people who see God in other religions are either looking for the true God and see him in spite of the other religions not because of them while some see their idea of who they want God to be and latch onto that idea because it serves their ego. In the end those who reject Jesus he will in turn in the next life... reject them right back sadly turning them away saying.. I never knew you.

Most of those people he 'never knew' will probably be the very Christians who love to quote that line, seeing as most of those that say that follow Pauls words more then Jesus'.

Yes, there will be some that are exactly that.. Christian in name only because they put faith in Christianity or rather churchianity rather than Jesus.

He is specifically referring to Christians in that quote who call Him Lord but do not do what He has told them to do.

Exactly. Jesus says nothing about having the right 'faith' in that context it is about not bearing good fruit. And the verse that follows talks very specifically about not practicing His Teachings.

I hear other Christians echo what you wrote, and I also hear Buddhist saying pretty much the same, that a Buddhist can not be a theist. Yet I know people who are both. Some are Christian, some are even Muslim. What I'd like to know is: What do you make of that?

Serving God...sometimes I don't know what the means. Other times I'm convinced that it is through Love, Compassion, Forgiveness and Service to those in need...and that's how one Serves God. There's not much confusion there.
