So the chosen are not the predestined?
That's not about them having been chosen to salvation, however, whereas the question of this thread was about that. The ancient chosen people were under the Old Covenant, and this could not save them by virtue of it.
Really, when I asked the original question I was thinking of those predestined which to me are chosen by God.
So one shouldn't use the word chosen with those that are predestined it seems. Really, when I asked the original question I was thinking of those predestined which to me are chosen by God. I guess I am really confusing the issue.
I don't think your use of the word "chosen" was wrong here at all. In fact, the word "chosen" is used several times in the NT to refer to the same people as the predestined. So one shouldn't use the word chosen with those that are predestined it seems. Assuming the chosen are Christians that God has selected to go to heaven. If you don't think so what would be the reasons why they wouldn't?
Sorry, I originally left the don't out.
I think I left my brain in the bathroom again
So the chosen are not the predestined?
We enter the chosen category when we receive salvation. If we fall into disbelief, we exit the chosen category.
Nonsense...
He seals us against that possibility.
